This hotel has an amazing restaurant. The food is very well prepared and the prices are more than reasonable. The setting is fantastic. The hotel rooms are stunning and all different. This is a place that I want to come back to.

The food was great, and the atmosphere was great. People were enjoying themselves and it made it cosy. The food was good, the wine list a bit short, so gourmands and gourmettes may be a bit disappointed, but for most folks it is more than adequate.

A pity mussels are out of season. You really find so well and perfect boiled blue mussels anywhere as you can find at Hovde Gard restaurant. A nice place for seafood.

This restaurant is located at a hotel, but opened to the public like all hotel's restaurants in Norway. It was a stall of creation of oxen, in the old days and later worked as a cooking school for the ladies of that time. Today Hovde Gard restaurant. It has been adapted to a restaurant while preserving the wood building and... More

Hovde gård has a lovely restaurant, located in Brekstad, which I absolutely would recommend for bringing friends and loved ones for a culinary experience. The food is very tasty, the a la carte menu contains ingredients carefully picked from local farms, and the composition is not like anything I had before. The staff is very welcoming and service minded. I'll... More

This very clean restaurant had only a small menu, but everything we had was fresh and delicious. My mouth is watering just remembering the fish soup. We also tried reindeer meat. You should too!

This resturant/hotel want to achieve a lot but they have a lot to improve in the resturant. They claim that many dishes are home made, but it tastes industry prepared. The service is some times great and most of the times poor (unfriendly waiters, slow in responsing).

We stopped here for dinner one evening and enjoyed the reindeer steak. Everything we ate was wonderful including the herring bar and fresh to start the meal. The server was friendly and attentive. I really liked the old barn feel to restaurant. It was a unique meal in a unique location. This was a business dinner but it would be... More

We recently ate here on two nights whilst staying at the hotel. The restaurant is in a recently converted cow shed. The first night we ate salted cod (klipp fisk in Norwegian), it was the first time I had eaten this type of fish as a normal dish. It was delicious and well presented. For starter my wife and I...
