This is the place to eat when you are in Lican Ray. Grilled wild boar over a open grill was amazing. Awesome salad, you will get full. It is so much food. Price is fair.

My wife and I noticed the wild boar, pork, and lamb being grilled on an open spit on the way to the Peninsula Trail in Lican Ray. It is about 2 blocks down the street from central square. We were going to pass lunch but decided about 3:00 PM it was time for a snack. Fabulous lamb with a great mixed green salad and some good Chilean wine. We split an order, and it held us over to a light snack at night. It makes a great day trip from Pucon (via Villarica) or Villarica. Very cozy and efficient waitstaff. Owner is a gem. Only open in the afternoon, but well worth the expedition to the lake.Owner treated us to a chunk of javelina (yummmm) after our meal.

Having lunch at Los Ulmos was a wonderful experience! Food is great, the place is cozy and welcoming, and the staff goes above and beyond to help you feel welcomed. We had the cazuela and were blown away by it. So much flavor!! We also ordered the lamb without knowing it was their award winning dish. The meat was so tender you could literally cut it with a fork. Even the sauce and the sopaipillas they bring as a complimentary appetizer were amazing.

if you are in lican ray is a must. the place is run by its owners and it shows.

We went to Lican Ray, off season, not sure what would be open and not optimistic having read the reviews of the other restaurants. However we came across Los Ultimos de Chinura where the was a suckling pig on the spit roast and a warm welcome from the staff so we went in. We had empandas to start (very good) then then the carvery (huge portions, too many chips, but the right amount of salad). Full up we did not make pudding. Very much recommended; it was notable that the locals eat here, which says a lot to me.

We have become regulars at Los Ulmos in the 4 months we've been living in the area. I can't say enough about the friendly and attentive staff. Though my husband likes the steak and empanadas, I have never had such delicious trout (trucha) or pastel de jaiba (crab casserole)! We even ordered empanadas to-go for a gathering and they were extremely accommodating. The restaurant has a great lodge-like feel with multiple fireplaces keeping it super cozy. In the summer you can enjoy dining on the front terrace. If you are in Lican Ray you shouldn't miss a meal at Los Ulmos de Chiñura!

Los Ulmos de Chinura is hands down...the best restaurant in Lican Ray. They specialise in meats on the grill but don't miss their trout or pastel de jaiba (crab casserole) if available. With a friendly staff and cozy ambiance...it is not to be missed if you are in Lican Ray!

Exquisite food, abundant dishes, one block from the small beach.
Very friendly in their attention, with prices appropriate to the quality and quantity of food served.
To repeat without a doubt and a place to go safely in Lican Ray.
