We enjoyed a Friday night meal here. We had booked but it was not overly busy possibly due to the wet weather. Attentive friendly service and the quality of the meals was very good with generous servings. We look forward to returning.

Great spot to eat but be aware they are closed Monday and Tuesday night, we learnt the hard way and went back to our cabin hungry :) We did eat here Wednesday and Thursday nights, the customer service was 10/10. Food was delicious but in...the higher price bracket.More
Nice friendly atmosphere. Meals are on the expensive side, but were tasty. Service was timely and friendly. There are wheelchair accessible tables.
Limited menu but a good range. Not cheap but excellent value. We had lamb shanks and steak which were excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service and food were excellent. We had the fish of the day, pork loin, the pasta special for mains and the lamb kebabs for starters. All were delicious and the portions generous ( we couldn’t have fitted in...dessert even though the menu looked fabulous) We would certainly recommend this restaurant 🤗More
The worse service we have ever had very disappointing, we wanted to spend some money at the bar and support the locals. We have been coming up to the Bunyas for 5 years, unfortunately we have never had a good experience at the bar. We...will definitely be back to the Bunyas just not the bar.More
Glad we booked on Saturday evening. Walked into a packed bistro. Service was attentive and friendly. Menu options were very good. Hard to choose for one night. Surprisingly we waited just over 20 minutes to receive a good value well cooked and presented meal. The...atmosphere was lovely and we are glad we dinned here. Will recommend and be back again next trip. Plenty of whiskies on offer. Thank you guys.More
Friendly service, great meals, cocktails. Very busy so book a table. Reasonable prices. We ate here two nights during our stay.
After a day of camping in the Bunya Mountains, my friends and I stopped at the Bunya Tavern for dinner. Being on a low-carb ketogenic diet, I'd got myself excited for menu items including pork loin chops, fillet steak, lamb shanks and braised duck leg....After some consideration, my girlfriend and I decided to share the latter two, and requested more veggies instead of mashed potatoes and rice. What we received was woefully inadequate and failed to fill us up - even after duck spring rolls for a starter! On the plus side, the lamb shank (which was just one meagre shank, not two - lie #1, and for $36, this is dining room robbery) was flavourful, if a bit dry, and the vegetables tasted good in the red wine jus. Similarly, the 'braised duck leg', which wasn't a leg, but a smattering of pulled meat mixed in with veggies, was tasty, yet couldn't have filled up a teething child. The meals were technically tasty, but were blink and you'd miss it, and didn't fill us up at all! Incidentally, my girlfriend had a packet of pork scratchings tucked in her bag as a back-up, which we had to bring out at the end of the meal just to fell like our hunger was even slightly quenched. Having to bring outside food into a restaurant to be satiated is absolutely outrageous. And for $90, you'd be better off waiting 3 hours for a takeaway kebab to be delivered up the mountain. Bunya Tavern should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off customers who have no better options in the area. Disgraceful, and I hope they either increase their portion sizes, or spurred to change by competition in the area. We will not be going back.More
Excellent burger. I chose the GF bun for the first time and it was so nice! So tasty and I loved the sauce. Very good service as well.
We got into trouble for sharing a meal. One meal came with sauce which we didn’t order but when we went back to ask for some bbq and tomato sauce we were told it would be $1 each. The chips were not cooked properly but...I was too scared to ask for them to be cooked more.More
Great food and great service. We were a group of 18. All meals came out at the same time. Being the peak of the festive season we planned ahead and booked a week in advance. It was a lovely and relaxed ambience, perfect for a...family outing. Staff were lovely and attentive.More
Incredibly poor service. Could not get a booking (2 days wait). Can live with that. But to not even be able to get basic takeout such as a pizza or hamburger at 6pm, on a Thursday night, in the middle of the Christmas Holidays is...woeful! It's still daylight for goodness sake. Apparently takeout orders need to be in by 5pm and picked up by 5:30pm. Who eats at 5:30pm u der 80?! This business will go out of business if it doesn't improve its service or should I say lack of.More
Not overly impressed with the service. We had a pre booked late Sunday lunch and on arrival they immediately sat us outside in the half converted patio with winter wind gusts coming through the plastic shade cloths. Menus were handed to us and the waitress...walked away. The inside dining room was mostly empty from the amount of toilet and bar trips we took during our entire sitting. It made us wonder why they would make guests sit outside during winter if they didn't need to? The fire place wasn't even on either. We ordered meals immediately after we realised there was no table service, and were told certain items not available. The staff struggled after this time to make meal alterations to accommodate dietary needs the unavailable meals would have provided. It held up the line while they tried to convince me to select options I'm not tolerant to eat. Drinks took 20 mins to arrive (beer, whiskey, soda water). The staff advised on delivery that the whiskey we had the day before during the Tasting Session (which i highly recommend) was not available and offered a selection of other options similar in $rate. Another 15 minutes later his replacement drink arrived but then he saw a bottle of the original whiskey on the shelf inside half open. At the 1hr 15min mark, 2 entrees arrived. At 1hr 30 mark, I asked where the food was when 4 mains arrived and 10 mins later the final 2. The food was lovely but holy heck we were cold, hungry, sober and plain old grumpy about being kept in the dark about the lack of things they're struggling with. The following morning we went back to get scones and coffee that they advertise. Paid for everything, sat down and 5 mins later told that no scones were available for the day and they couldn't do take away coffee unless we purchased it at the adjoining gift store. We've booked accom for next year and already decided to treat ourselves to a day trip out to a nice pub somewhere else.More
We got some burgers for lunch and a couple of beers and it was pricey! We were happy to pay as we enjoy supporting the locals however after receiving 2 x very bland burgers without any flavour we were quite devastated. The tastiest thing about...lunch was the freshness of the buns!! Wouldn’t recommend having lunch here if you’re on a budget or have a few mouths to feed, it’s pricey and not worth it. On the other hand the service was good, amenities were clean and generally nice cafe.More
