We booked for a dinner; there were 6 of us, all ladies and all teachers. We were asked for ID by the manager. 3 were able to show theirs, the other 3 had either a photo or their MyGov profile to show, neither of which...were accepted. The manager was very rude during this process, stating that we needed the original. Don't know very many people in this day and age who keep their actual ID on them to be honest...
We ordered, and they took our orders to the kitchen. They came back 10 minutes later to say three of our mains could not be done due to "not having rice." Rice is a staple- who the heck does not have rice? Though the waitress was sweet, she had not been taught customer skills as she came back without a menu. She ran off to get one and came back, and so the 3 of us looked back at the menu and reordered. The meals then took 45 minutes long.
5 out of the 6 meals were terrible; either cold, runny (sweet potatoe mashed) or chewy (steak was awful). When we were given the bill, it was for the meals that we received and not the originals we'd ordered. We questioned this as we felt that that wasn't right, considering we ordered from the specials board and they couldn't fulfill it. So we asked a young waiter to fix it and he did that, however when we went up to pay at the counter, there was more of a mix up and so the manager came across to assist. However, he made things worse. He was not professional in his dealings with us, even though 4 of his young staff were watching on behind him, making it very difficult to communicate. He was arrogant, and could not withstand us so basically wrote us off. We walked out of there very dissatisfied and want everyone to know, that until under new management, you should seriously consider not going there. The Bunya Mountains is incredibly beautiful and worth the scenery, but a home-cooked meal at your accommodation, would be a thousand times better than the experience we had with it's cost on top of it. Absolute joke.More
