Small portions, over cooked/steamed steak, ridiculously over priced food and wine, dirty glasses, and rude staff. Over $2100 for 6 people to leave underwhelmed and still hungry, needing to get something to eat on the way home is absolutely woeful. Feel like we were taken...for a ride. Would not recommend. The quality of food was amazing as was the presentation. There were many appealing dishes on the menu and I am sure they would all have been as delicious as what we chose. Portion size was perfect. Did not book a table in the restaurant on checking in, my fault, so staff were really helpful and flexible in finding us a spot at short notice. Sat on the chefs table so we could see the calm professionals at work. All dishes were...beautifully presented, so tasty and Spencer, our server, explained each dish to us. Atmosphere just great and so glad the staff managed to find us a table. We also had the wine tasting experience and Thomas was just great with his knowledge of the wines. Bedrooms were also superb, lovely double shower which I've never seen before. What a lovely experience at Jackalope and we hope to return on out next visit to AustraliaMore

DDD’s ingredients were clearly excellent and portions generous but the food was bland and service was uneven and slow — wine pairings never arrived with the course and typically arrived more than halfway through the course and we were served and attended to observably slower...than the tables around us.More
Doot Doot was everything that was expected on arrival- great ambience, friendly welcoming reception and staff, unique roof of globes that vary the lighting, well spaced out tables, quiet high end dining . Thereafter it was downhill .We felt the food was overpriced for the...fare , with a set so- called degustation menu ( $140pp) but with options that were equally pricey ( Caviar and Wagyu beef at $95 a pop!) with the waitering staff doing the big sell ! They were young boys and girls doing their job as obviously instructed by management. Portions were very small tho nicely presented- - I quipped to my wife that one way of losing weight would be to have all our meals here !! Good wine selection. On balance this was disappointing when compared to some of the high end restaurants in Melbourne. Jackalope is capitalising on their location in a vintage winery and putting on an illusion to beguile unsuspecting diners especially youngsters impressing their partners. They make you feel good at the time- it’s only later on reflection that one realized that we’ve been taken for a ride!! Suppose that’s clever marketing! If you really want to impress someone, this is the place but otherwise look elsewhereMore
A stunning meal in beautiful surroundings (well I assume it is as it was dark when we arrived)… definitely worth staying over :-) Delicious dishes every single one - perfectly sized to get an incredible range of flavours. We definitely will be returning!

We loved our dining experience at DOOT DOOT DOOT. Our server Gemma was kind and knowledgeable and we had an overall great experience. I think the price point of $125 per person was quite reasonable for the food and experience we received. Some of the...dishes were experimental but not too much that they weren’t edible, they were exciting and tasty. We especially enjoyed the ‘bacon and eggs’ among other things. We would recommend to others :)More

Booked online and had confirmation email and dinner menu allergens email received over last few days. We had been looking forward to our anniversary dinner tonight. Received a phone call at 12 noon to cancel saying they were closed and the online booking system had...an error! No real apology, no voucher to apologise. Just a cold email follow up. Facebook feed even said it was open and posted pictures of the food! Not impressed.More
We selected 3 courses plus other treats were supplied in between. We were going to do wine pairing but at $125 per person that was a bit too expensive. Food was good although one of the duck breast was a bit tough. Well worth trying.

My wife and I tried the full menu at Doot and matched it with the premium wine offering. The staff explained very thing well including the sommelier. The wines were great and the food presented beautifully and was very tasty. It’s a funky dining spot...and well worth trying. It was certainly a very special occasion for us.More

Nice food, and nice wine, wasn't amazing but was good. Sadly we got home and I have never been so sick. I have still not stopped throwing up and now feel that the experience has been completely tainted. Will not be going back - Partner...also feels exceptionally ill since dinner.More

I ate here two years ago and it was a great experience but this last visit was seriously disappointing., what happened? food was underwhelming and people with dietary restrictions weren’t given any replacements! so for example if you said no fish you were then Just...served the same meal without the fish. So basically we ate two courses of zucchini. appalling for the price.More
This was our second visit and it was even better than the last. The food is exceptional and the new chef is really making his mark. Amuse Bouche were outstanding, and each dish is a work of art. What adds to the occasion is that...the waiting staff know about the dishes, where the produce is from and are present without intruding. Good variety of soft drink choices - if not a bit pricey at $11. Fabulous venue and surprisingly reasonably priced menu in comparison to other fine dining in the area. Can’t wait to go back.More
