My coeliac wife ordered the one option available that clearly said "Gluten Free" - a salad. It came out and had 4 tortilla pieces on the salad. My wife ate most of the salad and then had a tortilla piece, and immediately knew it was...not a corn tortilla. After asking the staff, it was confirmed that the tortilla pieces were flour tortillas... The staff seemed more interested in making sure I knew it was a stocking issue, rather than accepting they had messed up enormously. Just unacceptable that something that is GF is continued to be sold with 4 massive chunks of gluten in it. Just leave it off the salad, it's so simple it hurts. Usually go here for coffees when in Whiteman Park. Won't return.More

We had a delicious lunch at the Village Cafe in Whiteman Park. Food was fresh, delicious and great value for money, and there was a great selection of food on the menu and specials board including vegetarian and kids menu. Service was friendly and quick....We'll definitely be back.More

Had to line up a long time to order and unfortunately the food was not worth the wait! The chips were cooked in old oil and the bacon and egg sandwich was awful! I really like to support small businesses, however I wouldn’t recommend a...meal at this cafe. It is a shame as Whiteman Park is so lovely!More

Had a coffee today Australia Day, so 15% more expensive. Flat white was cool. Took ages to get it so I reckon it sat on the e=bench and was forgotten. Not the first time I have been dissatisfied with Village Cafe but had to use...it as Slate and Pias was closed. Never again!!!More

I had Caesar salad and my friend had pumpkin bowl with edamame. We totally loved the food. We were pleasantly surprised. Coffee was great too.

I have eaten at the cafe multiple times and the chips are terrible, lukewarm at the best of times and always under cooked. Frozen chips need to be cooked twice. No one obviously has told the chef at the cafe. The rest of the food...is ok but the menu often has too much Singapore or Thai food on offer. More Australian food and less curry would be better.More

You should know that I am a pancake kind of girl and rarely will I pass them up, though if in a carb fast I will usually resort to eating allll the meats .. bacon, burgers, chicken, fish, etc. Now don't get me wrong, this...cafe has it all and from what I've seen, smelled and heard -it is all pretty good but I haven't dabbled in those too recently because the Truffle Mushrooms breakfast is a complete game changer. I can't put my finger on what specifically makes it so good, maybe the garlic butter? the truffle oil? the way it all soaks into the sourdough? oh my Now I'm not one for dramatics but I cannot stress enough just how amazing this dish is -it is literally stuff from which dreams are made! No really, I've actually dreamt about this yummy plate from the Gods. I don't live that close to Whiteman Park but it is consistently worth my trek to feast on these fungi and a proud favorite to show off to friends who are convinced I eat like a child. Truthfully, I'm quite happy to never eat another pancake so long as I have access to this Truffle Mushroom breakfast. Thank you Village Cafe for introducing this sweet-toothed-meat-eater to the most soul nourishing veg brekkie ever. I am a total fan for lifeMore
