Great hot chocolate, warming soup and fresh pastry. Kids were happy, parents were happy. What more do you need during a day in Røros?

This place saved us when everything else was closed (and it was only 4 pm..) the burger was nice and the staff friendly and helpful.

Very good food in a beautiful old cafe. It is said to be the oldest building in this town. You order from the bar and the staff speak english and are helpful to explain the Norwegian menu.

We were pointed in this direction by our hotel restaurant, which was booked out for the night. It has a very plain decor, more of the environment you would go to have coffee than a fine dining meal. However, the prices are fine dining....around $50 (Australian) for a schnitzel, served simply with some boiled potatoes. The food was decent but... More

Managed to accomodate the need for glutenfree food. Cozy place - nice staff. Very central and many seats.

We booked a table at the restaurant's website and got a confirmation on SMS. When we got to the restaurant, it was fully booked, and the waitress did not know they had an online booking system. She managed to get us a table, but we didn’t get any menu. After ten minutes, we asked the waitress for a menu, and... More

Our company of four persons reserved a table because this is a popular place to eat. We entered however 30 min earlier, but that was no problem. All of us ordered the wienerschnitzel, which was very good. The service was ordinary and on this particular day it was very crowdy in the restaurang. You pay your bill at the cashier... More

The carrot soup was surprisingly good in this nice spot in the middle of the old town. The place is frequented by locals, often just for a beer, but it is equally good for a full meal or for a quick coffee stop. The outside area at the front is really cosy and comfortable. Service is good and prices are... More

A ok cafè in the center of Røros. Had average coffee and hot chocolate from a dispenser machine, and some really dry, poor quality cinnamon rolls. There are way better and cosier cafés in Røros, with higher quality food.

The last time I was here it was by far the worst place in Røros. Today it was unexpedet good: they have freshened up the place on the outside, the interior and the menu. I ate waffel and kakao and it was alright. My son liked the kanelsnurr. Giving them a minus for only having one chair for children.

Thank Håvard T

Kaffestugu is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in the old mining town of Roros. Every day we serve generous portions with dinner and lunch based on local produce , homemade sandwiches, cakes and a wide selection of coffee and tea. On the second floor we have the historic and perhaps grandest banqueting facilities in Roros.
