I took salmon salad, which was excellent! The restaurant seemed spacious but empty, with only a few customers other than us. There were tables outside on the lawn and by the water, which was awesome on a sunny summer day. When we were there (on...a Friday), there was no lunch buffet, only a la carte with not many options.More
We stopped after our long bus ride to Hardanger Fjord as part of our NCL Pearl Cruise that included a buffet lunch at Thon Hotel. The hotel is in a very scenic area with lake and snow-capped mountain views. Unfortunately, the buffet lunch was not...quite as expected, but did offer some pretty good food (salmon, salads, desserts) but the main courses of very "salty" dried out beef, dry chicked and not cooked enough veggies made for a not too satisfying lunch. In addition, it was very crowded as the staff was unable to keep up with the amount of people and buses that were on the excursion.More
We enjoyed our brief stay. Came here last minute as we extended our trip an extra day and added this as a stop between destinations. The room was very spacious which helped us repack before our upcoming flight. They had a baby crib setup for...us since we indicated we needed one on our booking and called ahead to confirm Breakfast was a good buffet. Similar to what we’ve had the entire trip but slightly larger spread. All in all a good stayMore
Lovely, well kept old hotel with a dining room that overlooks the Hardanger fjord. Good food and friendly, professional service.
An amazing hotel combining 19th century architecture, modern facilities, local hospitality and situated right in the centre of the most charming small town. The nearby beach offer a fresh morning swim and both the a la carte menu and buffet presents local produce in a...traditionally furnished restaurant. Cleanliness is impeccable. I needed to book an extra night immediately to explore the area around the fjord and in the high mountains an easy 20 minutes drive from the hotel’s spacious private parking garage. And don’t miss the oven baked mountain trout!More
We got the 427 suite It's a new and modern suite with 3 rooms a balcony a kitchen a dining room and an amazing view So far it's the best value for money hotel we could find Suite for 6 people so its worth it
Spacious apartments, friendly and helpful staff and a breakfast buffet par none are reason enough to stay here. The hotel combines history and modern comforts with a world class view of the fjord in this resort town. Caters to all ages. Excellent!
Great hotel at the shore of the fjord. We had family room. Spacious. Kitchen equipped with all required stuff. Easy to cook dinner if you came late and all restaurants are already closed. Beautiful view from the room. Generous breakfast. Enjoy!
The buffet offered a lot of choice, yet looked very tired by 13.00 when I arrived. I had an open prawn sandwich that was very so-so, with huge dollop of factory mayo on top. This is the disappointing side of a visit to Norway. Stratospheric...prices for 1970s cuisine. I'm struggling for positives....maybe a nice view and an open air terrace in summer.More
