The Northcote pub is an institution. It's an old style hotel with an 'English' style pub and bar. The place is fantastic in the summer with a garden and lawns with outdoor tables. The food is reasonably priced and excellent. We love the pie which really is hearty and very generous. This pub is well supported by the community.

Great place to catch up with friends, great location and service but food a bit of let down. Had fish and chips, fish was not fresh and salad was wilted. My partner had steak so saturated in mushroom sauce he only ate part of it. Will go back for a drink but not for the food.

Looked for a central place to meet up with family from all over Auckland. The Northcote Tavern fitted the bill so we turned up and ordered their sunday roast all round.Really friendly, efficient service and you wouldn't believe the size of their kitchen!. So much talking at our table that our meals appeared in what seemed like no time at... More

Enjoyed a first visit here as an out-of-towner. Met friends for drinks and dinner at the bar before the movies. Bit of a mission to navigate the rabbit warren to find where to order the meal, but finally did get to enjoy a yummy steak & guinness pie, mashed spud and peas. Its great we didn't have to shift to... More

Have come here many times before as I live just a minute away. Love the backyard! Good vibes, good pub setting, great bar food, and friendly staff (and puppy dog)

If you visit of an evening you will see Auckland's Harbour Bridge lit up. Spacious bars and seating. We went back for lunch a second time we enjoyed the first time so much, although slightly complicated arrangement between buying drinks and food (which can't be done all in one place). Very helpful and pleasant staff and whilst the pub is... More
