Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have been to The Grand many times as a family over the years and unfortunately our Tuesday evening pub meal was a disappointment. The staff try their best but are inattentive and unsure of the menu, both drinks and food. One incorrect meal arrived that...was different from what was ordered. Mistakes happen, that’s understandable and the staff member who took our order said they misheard. Not surprising in a very busy, noisey environment. But to then offer no apology, send another staff member over twice to confirm what was originally ordered, explain the extra wait for the correct meal to be prepared and then come back to the table and request payment for the extra $6 meal difference was disappointing. Won’t be back, sad considering we’ve been heading here regularly over the last 20 years. Customer service lacking and gone downhill.More

Dined on a Sat night. Couldn't book a table online so we arrived & luckily found a table. I had the Thai satay pork & pineapple curry & hubby had a parma. We both enjoyed our meals. I also had a margarita cocktail. It was...very busy, loud & noisy atmosphere, we had to yell to be able to have a conversation so whilst we enjoyed the food, we did not enjoy the loud atmosphere. Not sure if it's like this all the time or because it was a Sat night?More

Loved the hearty pub food when here with friends recently. Service was efficient and friendly, I can see why it is a popular spot for locals. There was a good buzz here!

I only gave it one star because I had to. Terrible service. Asked for an entree to be bought out with mains and repeated it 3 times - was still bought out as an entree and when wait staff was notified they just said sorry...but did nothing about it. Eggplant Parma used to be good there but it wasn’t great this time. Wait staff was rude and unhelpful when all others at the table received their meal but one person had to wait another 10 mins. I’ll never go back. Not sure why it’s so popular. Many better places to go in Warrandyte.More

The atmosphere in the beer garden was fantastic on the weekend. Staff were very friendly and the live music was a hit with my friends! The frozen daiquiri’s were very refreshing on a warm summers day and there was ample shade away from the sun....The Parma will definitely bring us back again!More

We booked two weeks in advance. When we booked we called and made very clear to staff that we were a group of nine seventeen year olds and one eighteen year old. They said that was totally alright as long as we sat outside. When...we arrived they denied us entry as there wasn’t any parents present - a rule they had only just changed. They should have notified us before we went out of our way to travel there. The lady who told us we couldn’t go in was rude and ignored what we had to say.More

Been to this pub lots of time, but on the past two occasions meal bookings could only be made on line. That's fine but it doesn't always work. Can't beat talking to someone over the phone to make sure all's sorted. Lots of nice venues...around the area and they'll happily ensure your table booking is sorted--it's disappointing and inconvenient and we won't be going down this path again.More

We ventured out to the Grand after saying we would try it for ages. It certainly did not disappoint! We were seated immediately AND the menu isn't huge which is a pleasant change. Offering the usual pub grub and some extra bits and pieces. As...a large group, we had the following: - Chicken Parmas - Baked Salmon - Veal Schnitzel - Tuscan Meatballs - Calamari - Jalapeno Poppers - a couple of kids meals The servings were huge and everything tasted amazing! The only confusing thing is, is with the main menu and then the kiosk (share plates) being seperate. We wanted the share items to start BUT they were ready to collect after our mains. Would be beneficial to be able to request when the different items could arrive. Otherwise, we will definitely visit again.More

Fantastic pub with many nooks to sit with friends. Outdoor area with fire pit was also very attractive but a little too cold for a cold winter day. Great news: dogs welcomed in that area! And the meals were equally impressive, from a range if...share dishes through to pub classics and specials. We couldn't fault the parma! The accompanying chips were morrish! Worth a day trip out to this great place. Be sure to spent some time wandering the strip, inc the lolly and gingerbread shops.More
