Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is by far the most elegant eating spot in the Daintree. We decided to eat here on the recommendation of the park owner and were not disappointed. The setting was idyllical tropical outdoor with polished wooden floor, comfortable outdoor furniture with a creek running...just beyond the dining area and rainforest just beyond the restaurant boundary. we started with cocktails, moved to entrees and fish and kangaroo for mains. All were delicious. As we arrived very early (6pm) there was one else present which made the service a little slow considering lack of guests, but we were not in a hurray so it was not a big issue but I wonder how slow it might have been if there were more people. Having said that the food was very good and the ambiance was wonderful - eating good food in the Daintree Rainforest!More

Amazing dinner at this beautiful, tropical restaurant. The baked Brie was lovely. The Eton mess dessert with strawberry meringues was fantastic. Goats cheese canneloni - beautiful. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're visiting the Daintree for a very nice night out.

I had a wonderful day at the Daintree forest, cape tribulations, and other marvelous spots. I went for lunch at the On the Turps Restaurant. I had amazing seafood, and the staff was super friendly and professional. The atmosphere was amazing. I wish I could...go back and have one more dinner/lunch.More

There were only four tables when we went for dinner, although when we stopped by at lunch there was hardly a spare seat to be found! We arrived when it was still light, so could enjoy the delightful creek-side setting with luxuriant jungle plantings. I...had the turkish bread and dukkah, my partner had a salad which was incredibly fresh and huge! For main course I had the duck - expertly cooked, and my partner had the steak also cooked to perfection. We ended up taking home half the meal since the portions were so generous. My partner had a few mumbles about mosquitos, but as a native Aussie I wasn't bothered. Wonderful find in the Daintree.More

This is an excellent restaurant in a very isolated location. Having experienced many of the CBD style fine dining establishments. I can firmly say that the Coral trout sweet potato gnocchi dish which was a special of the day was absolutely mind blowing. Great service...from the staff and only the freshest of ingredients are used. We also stopped in for a lunch randomly and found the experience to be the same. Atmosphere is great and the surrounds are truly beautiful. A real gem in the forest. Will be back in July next year hope the Coral Trout is still on!More

Hope you had a great day on tour seeing the wonders of the Daintree and enjoyed your lunch stop with us!

Despite being deep in the forest this restaurant is really good with a good selection of dishes, although they do need to change the special more often.

Booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday and after getting a bit lost as it was pitch black and no phone service we finally found it. It was a lovely restaurant in the grounds of a lodge. Really nice staff and lovely food and wine....Atmosphere was beautiful, sort of indoor/outdoor setting which was really nice. Recommend booking here to eat if you are staying in the area.More

Friendly place, more upmarket than WHET actually, both in quality and price. We enjoyed it here. Kangaroo is recommended. Bookings also needed in July unfortunately.

How disappointing to make the trek into the incredible Daintree only to be treated with inhospitable manners. The restaurant was half empty but we were firmly told that guests who had not yet arrived would be served first and no, we couldn't even be given...some bread! Mushroom arancini tasteless. Felt very unwelcome.More

This restaurant was worth the trek down unfamiliar roads in the dark. The area one arrives into seems like a run of the mill tour group meal stop, but after passing through that, it opens up into a very nice, welcoming outdoor area. There was...quite a lot to choose from on the dinner menu and we enjoyed our meals very much.More

This has to be one of the most beautiful settings for a restaurant I’ve even been too! Surrounded by the rainforest, next to a beautiful creek (river when we were there) . It’s so lovely and really worth driving too even if you’re not staying...here. Food was great, Barramundi fillet with vegetables and a lovely sauce. Man working there was great too.More

We ate at this restaurant as the one in our resort was closed that evening and the staff recommended it. It was only a ten minute drive from our resort and we liked the menu, both of us choosing vegetarian options. The restaurant was open...air, surrounded by rainforest though parking spaces were not well signed - most customers were from the Heritage Resort where the restaurant is situated. Tables were well spaced and under fans. We ordered the mushroom leek cannelloni and the tofu with Asian slaw. The first dish was brilliant and came with a salad. The cannelloni was stuffed with vegetables and goat cheese! The second dish was not as flavoursome and on the small side. We also ordered steamed vegetables which were as expected. Service was very good and our food came soon after we ordered.More
