I was just driving by and decided to call in having no preconceptions of the place at all but curious about what is said to be Australia's most southern winery. The place had a pleasant ambiance and the person who welcomed me was friendly and helpful. I tried the range of wines and apple ciders offered for $5, which was... More

We have previously enjoyed lunch at Bruny Island Wines & Grill and wanted to show some of our friends just how good this little restaurant is - we were not disappointed!!!!! Despite being really busy on the day we visited everything was spot on. Our orders were taken with the staff being friendly and attentive, the drinks arrived and a... More

Where to start? The "hostess" I guess you'd call her (Susi I think?) was surly and rude and to be honest, a bit of a know it all. The chef was stoned (yep we could tell mate) and my wife was offended by his swearing. We were sat near the kitchen so heard it all. Not enough staff to handle... More

Hi Mattyj, Thanks you for visiting our establishment. I am sorry you feel you experienced rude service, Suzi at the time was doing a commentary to our bus tour which was over 70 people on the day and she was very busy. It is her job to "know it all" as she is telling the tour group about the history... More

When we sat down to eat noticed that there were bean bags placed near the vines and people were relaxed and enjoying a glass of wine - which was nice and casual. I wasn't very hungry so chose the cheese platter - which was tasty - came with crackers and a small crunchy bread roll. A suggestion for this would... More

We enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had in Tasmania recently at Bruny Island Wines. For starters we had the Natural Oysters - perfect. Our main courses, I had the best seafood chowder I have ever had, which contained fish, mussels and oysters. It was served with a fresh, crusty bread roll with butter. My husband had... More

We went for a mid-week late lunch with a group of 7 but without a reservation. Friendly staff made room for us without hesitation. We had opted for a quick wine tasting while they set up the table. Not a single one of the wines on offer came close to being of a reasonable standard. Too young, unbalanced (and bizarre... More

You definitely need to book here. It is very popular. The food is very good. Try the marinated mushrooms. I had an entree instead of a main course so that I could fit in dessert. I tried the cheesecake which came with poached cherries, cream and fruit ice-cream. Just delicious. Then tried a glass of bapple cider. (blackberry and apple).Very... More

We stopped in here for some wine tasting and ended up staying for lunch as well. We loved the apple and blackberry cider. Do yourself a favor and stop here and spend some time relaxing while looking at the vineyard.

Great service, fabulous tapas, & great wine of their own variety. We shared the mushrooms, and 2 x lamb; beautiful Washed down with their wooded Chardonnay at a very chilled temp. Better than sitting at a pub, worth the effort. Enjoy

Thank Michael M
