Saturday lunch with Mum and what a surprise to find real food with great service, a relaxed quiet atmosphere with no annoying music. This bistro pub is located in an old school it has plenty of character and charm with the menu on the black board giving you some mouth watering dishes. The Calves Liver and Lambs Liver was excellent.... More

Gorgeous food. The mussels starter was the die for and generous amount of mussels. The steak was cooked to perfections with a fantastic peppercorn sauce. My only comments would be the chips were a little too crisp for my liking, and there were not a lot of starters for non-fish eaters. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the food.

Despite the menu board being predominantly seafood I opted for the steak. I wasn't dissapointed it was simply superb, probably the best I've had. It's not the dining experience of local restaurants but is a pub after all. Whilst good it was also quite pricey. I'd go back for sure and need to sample some of that seafood on offer.

My date and I arrived to comfortably park in the spacious car park, I was immediately struck by the wonderful former school house, it's incredible period windows and once inside, the warmth and very inviting welcome from the staff was the beginning of a very wonderful evening. The menu looked sensational, plenty to choose from without being torn too much,... More

I have been here once before. And the food then was amazing. But tonight the guys were on point. From walking in, ordering our drinks, the chap on the bar knew his stuff. He was extremely welcoming and gave good advice. The young ladies that waited on us were brilliant. And the food...... The food really was fantastic. One of... More

This is not the first time we have visited The Bridgewater Arms. On this occasion the whole experience was simply superb for each course - starters, mains & dessert. I especially enjoyed the detailed description of the cheeses on the cheeseboard! We look forward to our next visit in 2017.

Dinner for two and a wedding anniversary celebration. Chose to eat in the restaurant; though eating in the bar is quite lively. Front of house Thomas Brown runs a good ship. Anticipates your order and has a good sense of recommendation for the wine list. Two or three real ales on at a time plus a wide spectrum of gins.... More

We regularly eat at this restaurant but have never before posted a review . Sometimes you take the good for granted and only comment on the bad . Well we have never had a bad meal here and if you like quality food served by friendly but professional staff in a relaxed coaching house atmosphere then look no further .... More
