Brilliant. Service, food, atmosphere were all first class and we left delighted. The Swan is simply lovely but entirely unpretentious. Lamb burgers followed by Raspberry Charlotte, very reasonably priced and both superb.

I dropped by for lunch after a lengthy absence and was not disappointed. While still retaining its old world charm the new decor has given it a fresh sparkle and the blazing log fire adds to the warm welcome. A great improvement is the blackboards replaced by printed menus with a range of dishes to suit all tastes. I had roasted... More

Great service, great food. Loved malbec🍷, salmon starter and chicken especially. Sit by the fire on a cold evening if you can!

Found the service not to be that great. A plastic A4 sign on the wall instructed customers to order food at the bar. I found this peculiar. The establishment has a handful of tables yet you are expected to make your way to the bar and order your food, like a Weatherspoons outfit. We were a couple so it was... More

My wife and I booked for Friday night and the place was full, every table taken. We had pre-ordered the Christmas menu and found the food absolutely delicious. My wife chose Loch Etive smoked trout with Wye cured gravadlax, in a lemon, dill and mustard sauce. I had crispy Tempura prawns with a sweet chilli dipping sauce. For mains we... More

I travelled over to Woolpit with my family to see whether the rumours were true. I had to see for myself. After speaking to a few friends at work who had dined at the Swan a couple of weeks back, and who also commented on how great the steak was. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by two young men... As it was bonfire night and our local pub in Wetherden had a band playing we decided to drive over to Woolpit for a bit of a refined pub evening. We certainly weren't disappointed, the two lads working at the Swan were on top form, drinks were swiftly dispensed, and we settled down for an evening of good food and... More

We had heard of the Swan from friends, so drove over to try it. The Swan is in the middle of the village facing the attractive church. It is a period building spoilt a little on the outside by an illuminated 'open' sign. Inside the bar/restaurant is spacious and with a good atmosphere helped by a log fire at one... More

We have lived in the next village to Woolpit for years and have never been to The Swan. We went last night and were really impressed. It is very well decorated and has a nice atmosphere. The food was quite high end and so consequently pricey for a 'pub'-a fillet of beef was £25. But it was a beautiful fillet... More
