A first visit here since Michael Smith took it over and will definitely not be the last. Food was beautiful and delicious. Slow cooked Jacob's Ladder mouthwatering, venison delightful. The small and intimate setting is wonderful. Could easily become my favourite restaurant. It may be...More

We were there for 30th December. The staff, particularly Andrew, were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All food choices were perfectly served and everyone was enjoyable and memorable. There is a great ambiance and it definitely deserves its high reputation.

On holiday in Skye, our son treated us to a lunch at this excellent little restaurant right on the waterfront in one of our favourite places in Scotland. In spite of a power cut, we enjoyed a superb three course lunch. The staff were attentive...More

Polite comfortable dining experience with food of real quality. On a cold November night the Loch Bay was welcoming, friendly and warm. As a special treat the food was out of this world. The best venison dish ever eaten.

Dined as a family with a fairly fussy teenager in tow. Dietary requirement were met with no fuss whatsoever which makes a refreshing change! The menu is small but delicious and would return to sample the five course seafood menu. Wine list is perhaps a...More

We decided to visit Loch Bay for the last lunch of our stay on Skye and were in no way disappointed. The combinations of tastes were amazing across all of the courses and we will definitely be paying another visit on our next Skye trip.

I raced from Inverness to Stein to make my reservation at Loch Bay, and I'm glad I did. A wonderful lunch in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend this hidden gem for fans of fine food.

Check with them direct. If you are on Facebook they are there with the opening hours but seem to recall from chatting to them they may be closed over Jan. if so try Scorrybreac in Portree.

Hi Deborah, The majority of our dishes if not gluten-free already can be modified to make them so. With advance warning of gluten free requirements we can have freshly baked bread and nibbles ready for you as well.

Unfortunately we do not allow dogs in the restaurant or have seating to dine outside. There is plentiful parking close to the restaurant and we are happy to provide a bowl of water or anything that may help.
