Visited the Moody Cow for a celebration Sunday lunch. Food was excellent as was the service. Would recommend a visit if in the area but you probably need to book as they look as if they get quite busy.

We have been to The Moody Cow on a number of occasions but this was a special birthday lunch for 15 adults and 3 children. Chris and Dawn could not have been more helpful or accommodating when we were making arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble. We were asked to provide menu choices beforehand, and this was no problem. On... More

Been to this establishment a few times but never on a Sunday. The pheasant starter was sublime followed buy one of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had and finished off with a sublime pudding.

I've heard good things about this place but never had the chance to go before. I wish I had though. We were a party of 12 and it was a very busy Sunday lunchtime, so a good test. well they didn't disappoint. The whole experience was first class. It's got a lovely ambiance and is very comfortable. The landlord looked... More

Travelling to Wales and found The Moody Cow on the internet. It had good reviews and I can see why. When we arrived at lunchtime mid-week it was busy. The staff were very welcoming and were able to juggle their bookings and find us a table. The menu was fairly extensive, food very good and customer service excellent. If it... More

After checking trip advisor, I booked this place for a meal during a one night stay in Ross-on-Wye. When we arrived at our B&B (The Bridge House) the owner confirmed we had made a great restaurant choice! And we really had! Fantastically warm welcome, attentive service without being pushy or over the top and fantastic food. Spoilt for choice with... More

Externally the Moody Cow looks very inviting with cool neon signs and it's not a let down when you get inside either ! We sat in the the bar and immediately felt it was a warm and relaxing area - large rustic tables and comfy chairs ! A slight disappointment as the promised legendary cow pie wasn't on as the... The atmosphere is lovely. The Moody Cow is a place to go to relax and enjoy a quality meal. The menu is filled with wholesome, hearty, country food, often with a twist. The food is not cheap but probably reasonable value for the quality offered. Best to book first but sometimes a table is available on spec. The host is very... More
