We were told that Croatian politicians invite there their foreign counterparts therefore we decided to pay National Restaurant Konavoski Dvor a visit. The food was indeed very good and the waiters were dressed in traditional Croatian style of clothing. The surroundings are beautiful but I cannot give them 5 stars as the waiter forgot my glass of wine. The food... More

The service was great but I don't think I like lamb and that is what their specialty is. Other than that a very pretty setting and I know they worked hard to feed us.

From the first step you can see this is something special. Location in south of Croatia, surrounded by small river...looks amazing. Service is very very polite, food is fantastic and delicious. I don`t like the fact they are charging the setting of the table but the good side is you get a snack...

We ate frogs, pasta with prawns and truffles, black risotto. Everything spectacular. Pasta first choice. You need to try that. Luca is very beautiful and warming host.

The restaurant is in a lovely setting beside a river. The service was good but the food was average & expensive for Croatia (over £100 for 4 with 1 bottle of wine).

Again, we find the places accidentally. This restaurant is by a large stream with lots of shade trees. Their specialty is roasting meats under a large iron bell. Also, they have fresh fish swimming around in pools! So your trout will be fresh! Traditional (country) dress is worn by the waiters and waitresses. Blankets are provided for the chilly evenings... What strikes you first is the picturesque setting of the restaurant. It's situated in the grounds of an ancient mill by the Ljuta river. The trout on the menu is from their fresh pools onsite. We were a group of 6 and all the food we ordered was delicious authentic, quality Croatian food. The staff were very friendly and exemplary... More

This restaurant has it all; fantastic location, excellent food and excellent service. We sat at a table by the river and ate excellent lamb cooked under the bell to the sound of the water running over the rocks - absolutely beautiful. As the evening drew on, and the cooling effect of the water lowered the temperature, the waiter brought out... More

We had a long final day in Dalmatia between leaving our apartment and flying back from Dubrovnik Airport. We were driving among the mills and vineyards of the Konovle area the day before, and saw this restaurant advertised along the roadsides. Inevitably, we passed near it on our way to Sokol Grad Castle, and back down the mountain towards Mlini.... More

In the gentle valley of Konavle, in the lush greenery of the centuries old trees and on the banks of a clean stream named Ljuta, the time seems to have stopped. The National restaurant Konavoski Dvori resting in an ancient mill by the rumbling river not only has a unique location but also offers a tranquil ambiance. The cold Ljuta river during the summer months serves as a natural air-conditioning. It is a perfect place to spend a day enjoying the untouched nature, getting to know Konavle tradition, and eating a delicious food. When you visit the Konavoski Dvori, enjoy the excellent smoked ham, cheese kept in oil, young lamb and veal baked under the iron bell, home-baked bread, grilled trout and other specialties of this renowned restaurant. Dishes are prepared here in the same traditional way as our grandmothers used to make them and the waiters are dressed in regional costumes.
