....you're doing and go visit this pub! They have the best and fullest steak pie I've ever eaten (I've had it 3 times in two weeks). Ronnie & Cathy (husband and wife owners) lead a wonderful team of staff ... I mean this most sincerely , the total team is very good. The pub is very busy with meals and... More

We travelled from Nottingham yesterday to take my Mum and partner out for dinner as it was her birthday. I'm a very good cook myself so I'm extremely fussy when it comes to dining out. We could not fault this fabulous restaurant, the food was second to none, absolutely lovely. The portions were more than worth the money we paid.... More

First time back here for many years. This was a special treat for our friend. Things started promisingly with busy delightful pub atmosphere and wonderful choice of real ales. Friend had steak pie etc which was good but my (Italian style) chicken breast in a Stilton sauce was very odd indeed. Why? Sauce wasn't Stilton yellow but a deep mustardy... More

Food was really nice and there was both a decent food and drink menu. Friendly staff, beer garden with plenty for kids. Has its own car park and easy to find in a pleasant village.

Tried this country pub for lunch and we were very pleased with the quality of food, service and value. We had a variety of mains: chicken, mutton, pie and veggie. All were good portions and very tasty. puddings were also enjoyed, one minor complaint was that custard was obviously water based from a packet, disappointing. Overall excellent meal and great... The bar staff were very welcoming in this cosy village pub. There is plenty of choice on the menu for all courses. Mains were plentiful with a choice of sides. Homemade puddings were all tempting, so again the choice was tough. Will be looking forward to trying something else on our next visit .

The wife & myself popped in here for a quick pint & chips around lunchtime with our two small dogs during our dog walk. No problems at all, nice beer to choose from.. I had a Doombar & the wife had a Peronia. The chips were nice & the lady who served us was very nice. Friendly towards the dogs... More

We were visiting the area, staying at a local bed-and-breakfast, and came here for dinner on a Friday night. Luckily we had booked as the restaurant was full. We arrived early and sat outside for a drink whilst the kids played in the garden playground, then decamped into the restaurant section of the pub just before the time we had... More

I booked a table, just to be sure as the reviews are good and didn't want to lose the table. We had a cosy table and excellent service from all staff. The food was so good and cooked as I had asked and hot which was a bonus. The cost was very reasonable too. Highly recommended.
