Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I were looking for a winery where we could relax and enjoy a light lunch. From their website, it looked as though Edgecombe Brothers would be just what we wanted. When we arrived, we could park under a shady grape vine. On...walking into the café we were greeted by a friendly young lady who took us to our table under a huge shade sail. It was a warm day and there was a gentle breeze and we had a view over the grape vines to a lake. Because we were looking to enjoy a light lunch, the menu was just what we wanted. The food was delicious, well presented and the service was fast, friendly and quick. The atmosphere was rustic, and we felt very welcome. The gentleman playing the piano just added to our experience. We could not fault what this winery offered.More

Fantastic day having wine tasting and lunch at this rustic venue. We loved the wine tasting and had a lovely table outside under the grapevines on what was a breezy cool day. We all enjoyed the food and the chance to taste wines before and...after lunch. We all purchased our favourite bottles to enjoy at home. Alfred and his staff were knowledgeable and charming adding to the enjoyment of the day. We will recommend and visit again.More

This is not our first time to this winery and probably not our last. My husband had booked lunch here for my birthday along with some friends. If you want silver service and a five star restaurant you will be disappointed but you get so MUCH...more. The menu is a basic but very good, along with dishes to share. This is table service which was a bonus. While we were waiting for our food we was going to do a tasting but told to stay at our table and the owner brought the tasting to our table. Now that is service. Plus the knowledge about the local area and history was excellent. Don't be in a rush or by pass this establishment. You won't be disappointedMore

We know Fathers Day will always be hectic, BUT........ we ordered early to avoid the massive rush. Even so, one member of our group got their meal, and the rest of the meals arrived 1 hour later. My arrocini eventually arrived with 6 very small...pieces on the plate( the menu stated there would be 8) , all of which were nearly cold. Although the soup was given a thumbs up, no-one else was able to enjoy their mains. By contrast, our starting platters were quite reasonable . Sadly, despite friendly staff, we can't recommend this cafe in the Swan Valley . There are so many who do it so much better.More

Very disappointed with slow service and poor food quality at our family lunch. Waited for over an hour from first main course being delivered to last main course delivered to 11 people on our table. Clearly the kitchen was overwhelmed or understaffed. Won't be going...back. Sorry.More

Group of us there for brunch - waiter advised of menu changes - However my elderly sister who had been discussing with her husband what to order requested one of the items not on menu and waiter in a very rude tone advised "I have...already told you twice that isn't on the menu". All of us at the table were shocked and were already thinking we would just get up and leave. My sister amended her order but when she returned to her seat, told the waiter that she thought he was out of order and spoke to her very rudely. To which he said I was not rude it is my tone and you had been told twice already!! To which all of us at the table said "you were very rude" and he continued to argue with us and my sister said well we can go somewhere else and he said that is your choice - So we did!! Sadly my sister had been the one to suggest this venue as she had recently taken a group of people there for breakfast. Will not returnMore

We've been coming here for years when we come over from the Eastern states. Our visit on Monday was very disappointing. It was like living in an episode from Fawlty Towers. We had 'Basil Fawlty' taking our order and then forgetting what we had ordered....'Manuel' was running aroung with drinks and getting all the orders wrong. We had a long wait for our meal, and nearly walked out after waiting a good thirty minutes for coffee and dessert. Honestly, we were looking for the hidden cameras, we really felt like we were being filmed. The place is run down. Won't be returning. Such a shame, it used to be so good.More

Ordered Kids nuggets and chips, kids “hot dog” and chips and my partner and I shared the edgecombe share platter which was $58 Waited 40 minutes for kids meals to come out, nuggets were over cooked and the hot dog was a cut in half...sausage smashed between Turkish bread and a tiny bit of sauce. Another 15 minutes and we were served our sharing platter, disappointed was an understatement and no way was basic bland olives from a jar, a triangle of plain cheddar and brie, basically the loaf of Turkish bread, the calamari was undercooked and sloppy, frittata dry… worth $58 just not something we expected from such seemingly popular restaurant in the swan valley. The staff were non existent and quite rude. Won’t be going back unfortunatelyMore

We had visited previously and chose this again for our lunch so. This wasnt just a great choice to stop for lunch but to sample their wines. We had the share platter again and really enjoyed the food and wine. The piano player was a...real charector and entertained the patrons and especially the children with his repertoire of songs and ditties. It was raining on the day we visited but we still got seating under cover.More
