I reviewed this place back in march when I came on a Monday night and only gave it 3 stars. Coming on a Saturday night, when the head chef was working, made a huge difference. We only had 2 courses. A pave du boeuf for me and entrecôte steak for my husband. Both were very well cooked, the entrecôte had... More

Nice breakfast place, with quite large --for France-- choice of morning food and very pleasant terrasse with beautiful view of the coast & Mediterranean Sea.

Had the standard set price 3 course meal which was good value with a good variety of choices, with some unusual and imaginative combinations, well presented and extremely tasty served by friendly helpful staff. Had to sit inside as the terrasse area was full so best to reserve a table, but even so the quality of the meal more than... More

Having spent several winters in Bormes we decided to come back for a couple of weeks in the "hot" season.Even though it was the end of August and the staff at Le Progres were, doubtless, looking forward to the end of hectic tourist season, the welcome and service we got was amazing. The 2 meals we had here during our... More

It is in the corner right in town, so you have cars passing by the restaurant. If you want to avoid the noise, don't take a table at the outside of the terrace. Food is good, nothing special bit well taken care off, service is fast, very fast as if they are in a hurry to sell the table again.... More

I'd been recommended the Cafe du Progres and headed there on a Monday evening, as it's the only restaurant open in the old town centre. Unfortunately, I think it was the chef's night off as the food was very mediocre. My goats cheese and pear starter crumble with duck had good flavour combinations but was gritty and was a bit... This restaurant is on the sharp hairpin bend on the way up to the main car park. It sits across the road from another restaurant which has a sea view and is therefore busier but I find the Progres to be a better bet. The food is well presented and reasonably priced, the staff are very friendly and most speak... More

The café/restaurant is situated centrally next to a cute street. The food was very tasty and there was a good choice of foods available. We had a 2-course lunch for 18,50e and really enjoyed it. Friendly service. Recommend eating on the terrace to get a nice view.

For the 24 euro menu, our starter, a mozzarella and tomato timbale, was so heavily garlic'ed that it made our eyes water. The chicken indienne was pleasant if a bit bland and the gourmand dessert consisted of a nice rich Chocolat mousse, a heavily coconuted Madeleine and what looked like some tinned fruit salad. On the 35 euro menu, starters... More

I really have enjoyed my time at this restaurant. I did not stay at the hotel. I spent probably 10 or more mornings here having coffee and breakfast either alone or with a friend. Also, many a late afternoon with wine and several dinners. The wait staff is so friendly and attentive. I love all of them! The food was... More
