Came across this pub by chance. Staff welcoming as were other people at the bar, telling us about the garden and gazebo. We ordered meals from the menu and they were great - wild boar sausages and chilli con carne

Popped in on the off chance of a table for 2 . We haven't eaten here for a little while, but I have just had one of the best meals ive had in a while. I had liver and bacon with mash a fresh veg, it was lovely, I wish I could of eaten it all, my daughter had the... More

The place is in an idyllic setting overlooking the local cricket ground which, when they're playing, is quintessentially English and on a nice warm sunny day you can sit outside. I had lunch there. Unfortunately despite there only being 3 tables occupied in the restaurant, our meals took forever to arrive so not off to a good start. I had... More

Sunday drive in the sunshine, stopped and sat the sun at the front of the traditional pub. It was quite popular on the day as the weather was so good. Good selection of beers and very friendly staff. Manu looks good so we will be back later in the summer to try the lunch.

We stayed here as arranged by a walking tour company and also ate dinner here. Staff were very friendly and food was excellent. Rooms were fine but lots of stairs/doors to haul luggage around- to be expected from a pub. There was no stand up shower in our room and the hot water was a bit sporadic, but bed was... More

Absolutely awful experience here. We ordered fish which we had to wait for ages to arrive. We were told it would be out in 10 minutes and we were still waiting 30 minutes later. When it did arrive the fish was rotten and smelled bad, we sent it back, and were offered an alternative. We ordered a steak which was... More

The waitress was very friendly and happy its a pity the food was so poor. Will not be going back we had the running horse burgers we should have gone to burger king. Onion rings came out burnt so went straight back.

We went to the Flying Horse after seeing the bluebells in nearby King's Wood. Although the restuarant was full on Saturday lunch time, we were able to eat in the bar, choosing from the same menu. We tried the steak and ale pie, which was home made and delicious, as well as the quail, which was also extremely good. For... More

We arrived on the 30th April to stay just one night to see our friends off on their trip to Europe. We asked if we could check in our room , but it wasn't quite ready, we didn't mind as we had a table booked for dinner and would sort it out after that. We were given Room 1, very... More

... as I'd probably be in there more than is good for me. We were two couples on a Monday night, and were agreeably surprised to find a constant flow of people popping in for a drink and a chat with friends. Just like pubs used to be. Everybody was very friendly, staff and customers, and, after a couple of... More
