Last time we stayed in Bunker Bay we experienced average food and service at the resort restaurant. However pleased to say this time the restaurant is back to what it should be, friendly service and lovely food. Recommend the whole snapper and venison chorizo.

I didn't hold out many hopes for this meal after my very poor meal last August 2023, and in that regard I was not disappointed. Unfortunately there was a function going on that evening, so the dining area was much smaller and subject to the...noise and distractions of the function happening beyond a makeshift curtain. My starter of duck liver parfait was quite tasteless and served with a really unpalatable dish of fried toast, melba? which was a bit gross to eat, oily and unpleasant. The main course of Barramundi was mixed, the fish was ok, not overcooked but soggy. It came with 1 small potato....I ordered a side of green veggies. Unfortunately these came totally undercooked. even though I like crunchy veg, this was something beyond that, more a knife bending affair. I asked them to be returned and I had to eat my cooling fish anyway. The veggies came back but I had finished and the whole meal was very underwhelming. The service was basic, my wine glass got emptied and I was never offered a refill and of course as is the way these days, no hint of an apology for the raw veggies and bad timing. There was no obvious overseeing of the staff so they were on their own. The bill came back to me complete with the rejected dish, so that had to be amended. Clearly no-one actually cares at this restaurant? I despair that restaurants these days, at so called '5 star' resorts can get away with such inconsistencies and mediocrity in food, service and presentation...if I did my job as half heartedly as this, I would not last a month.More

Amazing ! beef rump w/ authentic chimichurro sauce, however the customer service is lacking, as someone who regularly attends higher end restaurants and hotels. We asked our waiter about the dense ness of the milkshakes and how they were made, he assured us it is...a “proper” milkshake and dense p, so we ordered a strawberry milkshake and what came out was literally strawberry flavored milk, we took one sip and left it. However, we still paid for it,it is customary for waiters to notice and inquire, as if we liked it or not and take it off the bill. This did not happen and he brought us the check and we paid. Noticing details goes a long way.More

I invited a family member to spend the day with me at Pullman Bunker Bay Resort (it was a luxury escape thing). She had spent some time there before (when the children were young) and I had it on my bucket list. The day was...to have some quality time together at the spa and have lunch afterwards. Being a Busselton local, she drove and it was nice to be a passenger and enjoy the drive out (approx 25 mins) and to see another side of the region I don't get experience as often as I would like. It was a beautiful day, clear blue sky, with the surrounding area lush and green. I saw glimpses of the sea as we got closer and could smell the salt in the air. The parking area was large and quite full but we both enjoyed the walk from just behind the tennis court to the spa and reception area. We saw plenty of holiday makers, dressed casually and with family members making the most of the fabulous weather. The buildings were quite impressive with the stonework and we found it easy to navigate our way, with both signage and friendly staff. Inside the spa was a calming, welcoming space in natural textures and neutral colours. Comfort and calm was the decor, I remember looking out and seeing a small meditation garden, complete with a water feature. We were seen in a timely manner by our 2 staff, (Repeka and Salote) who were very welcoming and gave us our Reviving Facial and Relaxing Back, Neck and Shoulder Massages. We both had our appointment in the same room. While my guest really enjoyed her treatments, I found mine was a bit more firm than I was used to and I did ask for a more gentle approach. We left feeling very happy with the treatment. (It was the next day that I was a bit sore, having regretted not asking for 'more' of the gentleness. I live and learn). Then it was onto the lunch part of our "Ladies Day". The restaurant is reached by walking through the impressive main reception area. The views are of the sea and we were both delighted to see whales cavorting in the near distance as well as the abundant birdlife. As lovely as the decor, the menu I perused, felt for a 5 star resort was a bit ordinary. My guest seemed taken aback as well. One page long with only a few choices it reminded me of a pub menu. We decided that fish and chips for her and a truffle mushroom pizza for me. My guest described her dish as 'oily' and 'thickly battered', saying that the amount of batter was too much for the dish. She didn't finish it. She did enjoy her drink. I found my pizza quite acceptable. I could taste a slight truffle flavour and the mushrooms were pleasing. I assume such a menu at lunch is to the taste of the clientele that stays at the resort, and said as much. We didn't have many other tables full at the time, but most of the patrons seemed to be staying there, judging by their dress. Not wanting to linger, I approached the bar to settle (having prepaid) but there was some confusion amongst the serving staff who had to get the manager. Eventually the matter was sorted and the excess charges were voided, but felt uncomfortable having to justify myself in a public area. In the end, I would say the experience has taught me that sometimes expectations do not live up to the reality. It was nice, but not as nice as I had hoped.More

My partner ordered a beef burger and I ordered fish and chips and both came out with sweet potato chips with no mention of this anywhere on the menu. The fish said it came with "chips" and the burger with "fries" There was a large...group near us with kids and we could see the kids fish and chips and kids burger and chips also had sweet potato chips which none of the kids appeared to eat. Why wouldn't you tell people this? The wait times for everything was also very very long. It took them about 40 minutes after our drinks were served for them to come and ask us what we wanted to eat. Won't be coming backMore

We arrived for a lunch at 1pm. Pretty much the only people in the restaurant. After reading all the great reviews realized the lunch menu was pretty limited and not what I was expecting. I should have researched more. Anyhow resigned ourselves to the fact...we were having pizza and sandwiches and stayed. Ordered and waitstaff were pleasant but took an hour to receive our steak and chicken sandwiches and they were stone cold when they arrived. Ate and left. Disappointed all round.More

Dinner was quite good, I really liked the local venison which was beautifully cooked. Prices on the high side but we had a Luxury Escapes package with dining credit so that helped. Restaurant was packed out, even at 6pm (definitely book in advance, don't assume...you can get in just because you are staying here) and staff were run off their feet and looked very harassed. Consequently there is a high turn over of tables - our booking for 6.00 advised us they wanted table back by 7.15 - we were not offered a desert menu - luckily we only wanted one course.More

We booked nearly two months ago for a 45th Wedding Anniversay dinner, a fairly significant occasion. We included this information in the booking. The food was delighful, the chef and staff very accommodating in relation to a food allergy and the service good. We were...given a table for two behind a support beam next to the utensils and cleaning replenishment servery. One of us looked at the beam, the other at the back of the waitstaff coming and going all during the meal and our wait. Really!!. Maybe they were really busy and every couple in the restaurant at the time booked before us. My wife was near tears. We skipped desert, coffee etc and went back to our room for some peace and quiet. Maybe not the worst table in the restaurant but pretty close. Could we have argued for a better table. Maybe, but usually when you are given a poor table there is no point and we didn't need the unpleasantness to spoil it further. I now wonder why you would book ahead as this has happened on several occasions. It definitely spoilt the night and what was to be a wonderful celebration.More

Our worst dining experience in Dunsborough. Menu was burgers, pizza or fish and chips. The tempura whiting was a very thin mushy fish in so called tempura batter it was disgusting. Give this place a miss, Wise winery is only down the road and infinitely...better.More

Four of us (locals) went for a birthday dinner last night. It was a great choice. Firstly a stunning view / setting. The staff (mainly Fijian) were very friendly and attentive. The food was great particularly the fish of the day (being gold band snapper...last night) with the creamy potatoes and broccolini. We shared some entrees for starters and they were all yummy too. Some great flavours. We also felt overall it was well priced.More

Asked a couple of times if we were ready to order, when we ordered food arrived faster than expected for starters and main,...but timing was excellent. Food, fish of tjhe day was excellent, pork was goiod and sweets tastey. Service, could not fault. Booking again for thursday night. Must be accepting reviews from earlier and corrected. For a five star resort the food was very average and I would say take the 20 minute drive to town for better food at a better price. The menu is nothing special and you would expect some basics on there but expectations and reality...weren’t to be. Make sure the staff take your order down correctly as well as we had 3 incorrect meals come out. I know there are staff shortages in hospitality but the staff here seemed to have had little if any training and were more interested in chatting with each other than hood service. As I said this is meant to be a high class restaurant in a five star resort. We ate elsewhere second to forth night and got better food and service for more than half the price. Even with Accor membership food discounts it was not worth the price.More

Wonderful service and the food was excellent. The crispy pork belly and the eye fillet steaks were the prize winners on the night. Suggest that you order a plate of the greens as a side dish too. I would have given a five star rating...but the single dessert we ordered failed to be delivered and was added to the bill. It was removed before we paid.More

We went to celebrate a birthday lunch. The food was very ordinary and limited menu. The whiting fish and chips was very dry and unpleasant. The burgers were ok . Homemade buns would have been nice. The Pizzas were very nice. The crème brûlée was ordinary....The view was lovely but at 12 o’clock they had the pressure cleaners cleaning the balcony so you couldn’t sit the there.Overall very disappointing.More
