Arrived at the Albany on a recommendation. Firstly ordered a pepsi, which came out flat. Then went on to order the food. 2 large prawn and choritso linguine's £14 each). I'm SOOOOOOO glad I ordered the large, because if I ordered the small I'm pretty sure it would have just come as an empty dish, judging by the size of... More

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your food on your recent visit to us at The Albany Lee, but disappointed that you didn't enjoy the portion size of your meals or its value for money. We always strive to deliver this and whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this particular occasion, I do extend... More

Visited the Albany last Sunday for dinner with my 10yr old. Arrived just before service started 6pm and got in our food order early. Asked for wine list: didn't arrive, so had to go to bar myself and get bottle of wine. Food order was desperately slow. Mine arrives with my wife's, but my daughters arrived about 5/10mins later. Food... More

This venue is so expensive and the menu far to extensive for all the food to be cooked fresh. The service was slow, and surly. Over a fiver for a tiny portion of mushrooms on toast and the same price for artisan bread. The ribbon carrot salad was tasteless and boring, maybe put feta with it rather than mozzarella but... I have spent many pleasant evenings here although the seating arrangements can be too complex. Food is quite good.

Perfect location, and very friendly staff. But I'm afraid those are the only positives at the moment. The food at our last visit was exceptionally disappointing. The Roast chicken was the sort of standard you would expect from a microwave meal. Flavorless chicken, stodgy gravy, limp and bland vegetables that looked as if they had been thrown on the plate.... Same table, two meals of a totally different quality, one good one bad. Saved by the waitress and waiter. Would I come back, reluctantly due to the excellent location, not for the food.

We dined early as we knew the kitchen is open all day. This is a bonus as there are no set dining times. We both enjoyed our mushroom soup which had great depth of flavour. The fish platter had a generous helping of prawns in Bloody Mary cocktail sauce.Smoked salmon and mackerel were fresh and flavoursome. My husbands steak and ale pie was delicious...
