While on our 2 day trip to Sesimbra, we were lucky enough to stop at Filipe's for lunch and boy, am I glad we did! For the longest time I've been telling J all about our very own seafood rice (and how much better it...is than other seafood rices in existence) and here I had the first chance to make him try it. At Filipe's they make a version of it with lobster at €44.00, for 2 people and I promise you: it's good! It's also a lot of food, even for two. Even if fish (and seafood in general) are not his "cup-of-tea", J loved it too and did his best to eat it all... and he failed. So now we'll have to go back and give it another try! ;) The only "not so positive point" about this restaurant is the service. The waiters don't smile and don't make an effort to make you feel welcome. But that didn't really detract from our wonderful meal. We'll be back!More

If you like fresh fish, good food and beautiful place you have to visit and enjoy Filipe restaurant.

We stayed in an Airbnb apartment which the restaurant owner rents out so we tried the restaurant. The prawns in garlic were excellent, peeled and soft. I mopped up the garlic with lots of bread. Mussels in a tomato sauce with peppers were big, juicy...and a delight. The staff were excellent and we sat outside, watched the locals wander by for ages with a very decently priced bottle of wine. Highly recommended for fresh fish as well. Husband had the stone bass which was soft and came with lots of vegetables.More

Swordfish with crab sauce to die for. Really professional staff. Lots of locals is always a good sign.

We just kept getting ignored . And the staff was careless when asked a question about the menu. Food on the other hand was great .

Fantastic location in front of the beach. Fish and seafoods wonderful. For new years eve they offered a fix price menu not to be missed
