Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great family owned restaurant where everything is so yummy and we love to go there whenever we are in the spirit of enjoying a real Tuscan meal in a family reunion and with friends!

Came here for a quick lunch. Would absolutely recommend. Great pasta and dessert. Friendly service. The boss explains the Italian menus kindly in English. Prices are very good. Lots of locals which also means it’s good.

We loved the lunch here! Simple and efficient, very tasty, generous portions, great value for money, excellent service. They were also very accommodating regarding our party of 2 adults, a baby in a stroller and a dog. Totally recommend! We’ll absolutely come again when around.

This out of the way trattoria is absolutely one of our favorites! We stop here each and every time we're in the area. In fact, they've come to know us as the Texans and always extend a hearty welcome! Food is all homemade and there...is nothing we've had that wasn't fabulous. My fav is the eggplant parm, but the tagliatelle with sugo di cinghiale runs a close second. Ordering is a little confusing if you're new here -- step up to the food case, order your preferences (daily menu on chalk boards in order ... antipasti, primi, etc.), then grab a table. If going on a weekend or holiday, be sure and call ahead, This place fills up fast! Only once or twice have we heard other English speakers....it's generally locals from business folks to families to workers. A lovely, buzzing, lively hub of great food and those who appreciate it!More

Il Ceppo is in the between Sienna and Monterigioni, it is an restoran and pansione. But what an experience! Within the minutes you are sucked in a authentic italian home atmosphere. Incredible food, italian families coming there for a meal, owner shouting recomendation for a...food and one day trips in the same time... i spent two days there on my bussines trip from Rome to Venice, in the midlle of the winter. The room, facilities, heating, food, human touch... everything was superb, like Italy you imagine to experience but you never do. Despite the rain, litlle bit emptiness of the Toscany in the winter, colder weather, i experienced warmth of the toscan summer thanks to the Il Ceppo.More

Superb antipasti selection of meats and cheeses. This was followed by home made pasta with wild boar. Wonderful! All was washed down with house red and sparkling and still water. The dessert was a superb Grandmother’s Cake. A very enjoyable experience.

Visit this quaint spot in the heart of Tuscany. Great food with a beautiful view. I recommend the Cinghiale. The hospitality and service are fantastic. The owner speaks English fairly well if that is a concern.

We are staying not far from Il Ceppo and we were looking for a place for lunch. The large number of cars parked in front was a dead giveaway to the fact this was a local restaurant. The menu was written on a chalkboard and...you chose your dish, order at the counter, give them your name and find a seat. The food arrives super fresh and hot. We had the risotto pescatore and the papperdelle chingale (wild boar.) Both dishes were delicious but the papperdelle was the clear winner. The ragu had great depth of flavor and the pasta was perfect. Two glasses of wine and the bill came to 17 Euros - a great deal. We will definitely make a return visit. The menu is in Italian so go prepared to do some translating.More

Absolutely the best restaurant to spend a chilli day tasting boar, pici, zuppa and Chianti wine in couple or friends. Cheap priced and excellent service.
