Tucked away in a sidestreet off the Plaza de Espagna. This cosy restaurant offers both tapas and full-sized meals . The waiter speaks acceptable English , a rarity in these parts. We shared a wonderful plate of cured hams and local cheeses, followed by lamb cutlets with a few trimmings,,tomataoes and some French fries and for my wife ,vegetarian asparagus... More

We have just eaten the tourist menu here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The waitress tried really hard to translate the menu in to English for us. The wine and food were great for the bargain price. We were treated to a view of the back of the restaurant which was like a Pompeian small room with frescoes. Nothing was... More

Very nice food, you can go if you are vegetarian, or Vegan, they serve their own veggies, and the tastes are very nice. Don't expect fancy, or new cuisine, old cuisine well presented and well cooked, I was expecting more from desserts, but... Have parillada de la huerta (grilled veggies / is vegan ), ensalada tabula calda ( have tuna)... More

It's quite rare that I feel motivated enough to write a review for anything really, but the evening we spent at Tabula Calda was an absolutely superb experience. The food was lovely, fresh and generally very enjoyable and also quite affordable, yes, but what really stayed in my memory was the owner of the place. It's simply unbelievable how kind,... More

This is a quiet and somewhat elegant place with very attentive staff. We started with the house orange salad. I had a garlic soup followed by grilled lamb, which were both excellent. My companion ordered migos (tasty but very filling) and a lovely lamb stew. The house wine is quite nice, with layers of flavor and some vegetal notes.

After visiting Roman Amphitheater and Temple of Diana, we came to small Tabula Calda Casa de Comidas for lunch. It served good food had good service. The owner was very proud of their stuff and friendly explained the uniqueness of the meat/vegetables/fruit. The restaurant seemed to be converted from old house.

After visiting the various Roman sites we strolled to the bridge and looked for a decent place to have lunch. In the area of the Amfi theater we only saw tourist settings, which we had decided to better skip than be sorry. So we strolled through onwards towards the bridge and came across Tabula Calda. After lunch we were surprised... More

A great restaurant in Mérida! The food is all sourced from the restaurants' own farm or from within 100km of its location! The complimentary Sephardic orange and olive oil salad is delicious and the owner, Manuel, is one of the friendliest people we met on our trip. He welcomes you to the restaurant like he is welcoming you to his... More

We really enjoyed our weekday lunch here. We were warmly greeted at the door by the friendly and chatty owner Manolo. (He playfully referred to me as the American Boy). The restaurant is situated in an old Roman house not far from the Roman Museo. The restaurant is divided into 3 parts: a colorful front dining room (it almost felt... More

We received a warm welcome and we were seated in the front dining room which seemed a bit formal as it was lunchtime. We were brought a complimentary orange and olive oil salad. We decided on the set menu which came with a generous carafe of wine. We chose the gazpacho and revuelto for starters, then the lamb stew and... More
