Sushi was good. And well presented. The main and other courses lacked flavour and quality. The staff weren’t very friendly and charged €10.50 for an egg fried rice as I asked for a small plain egg fried rice for our child who don’t want much to eat.

Amazing sushi

Sushi was excellent, as always. Service overall was good, even though we were there at a very busy time. However one of the waiters seemed to be having difficulties to understand even simple requests such as ordering another bottle of water. His colleagues more than made up for it though since they were very efficient.

We were here with friends and it looked to be quite popular and booked on Friday evening. The place is on two floors and the decor was nice and quite interesting (space roof). We had to wait some time for our food, but when it came it was all worth it. Sushi was delicious and the price and quality were excellent. We chose the platter and it was a very good choice! I do not care about wasabi, but my friends said that it was good and strong. The service and staff were super nice. They even filled our water glasses, which I could say does not happen in every place. Great experience!

The worst restaurant in Malta

The all u can eat is awful . They force u to wait food an hour and more because “we make first normal orders and then all you can eat “. Don’t waste your time . I would advise this place only for people who wants to make vendetta and make die of hunger the person you hate . Food isn’t amazing , very cold inside ac is on max and personal aren’t very friendly .

Even the pickled ginger was brown!!!!

I ordered two sushi rolls - the spicy tuna and the tempura prawn. Well the spicy tuna roll did not even look like tuna let alone taste like it. It tasted more like a weird kind of duck which they obviously said it was not. The tempura prawn was so old and cold and clearly cooked so far in advance that you could have a) bounced it off the ceiling or b) chewed on it like a piece of grizzle. The pickled ginger was even brown and dehydrated! This was an awful experience and I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Absolutely DISGUSTING!

Too many complaints here from the staff to the food to the ambience, so in a nutshell... The staff: the staff are apparently Nepalese (there's your first clue). Dishes were forgotten about and the drinks reordered until understood. The food was quite removed from Japanese food, offering Indian curries (which were probably the best thing on the menu had we ordered) in addition to dishes that were only Japanese by name. The normally delicate tempura prawns or tempura calamari had a hard coating of batter (panko crumbs traditionally) and the rings at least were clearly frozen and rubbery and swiftly returned - the waiter then explained what calamari meant. This to a world traveller and food expert. It arrived with a dipping sauce of XO Sauce, a Chinese rich and sweet condiment that doesn't compliment the cuisine. This and none of the other sauces were prepared in house. The lukewarm tofu had been deep fried (not stir fried as offered) and was soggy with oil having not been drained. It was tasteless, lacking in chili, garlic or ginger! I had two bones in my sea bass sashimi - a first ever for me. The ambience? As usual, it was like being in a disco, shouting at each other to be heard. Upon request to turn it down, the staff did nothing. The ceiling is adorned with classic paintings hanging upside down from the ceiling, presumably to be enjoyed while lying on your back. Never ever again.

Not at all what we expected. The sushi was okay! We had to remind them of our order a number of times ! We ordered spring rolls and they came after reminding the waiter 3 times that we ordered spring rolls. Would give a 4 star if it wasn’t for the poor service. As soon as we got in the waiter didn’t tell us which table to go to etc he just pointed at it. Would not recommend for the price/service

We have visited recently for a dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was far from nice. We have ordered coconut chicken soup which was sweet and very greasy, you couldn't feel any spices in there so it was basically like eating warm coconut milk. Then there was sushi, which was okay, however, a bit tasteless it just didn't taste very fresh. Then we ordered calamari and prawn tempura which was simply awful. Calamari one looked and tasted more like onion rings, and prawns were so greasy that it was impossible to eat them. After such an experience we decided to skip the dessert.. In the end, my partner ordered a Jagermeister shot which was served warm in the even warmer glass. The only highlight of this visit was the quick and attentive staff, but all in all definitely not recommending and we wont be visiting again

I grew up in Japan and I've probably eaten more Japanese food than the most. I was looking forward to eating here but sadly, disappointed. First of all, their 'buffet' is not a true buffet. They'll give your 3 order forms which you fill out to order and each form can only be used once (Except for sushi form which can be used twice). Each form has different set of food. E.g. one has mainly cooked food, another dessert etc. You can order as many things as you can bar free items which can only be ordered once. Once the form is hanfed over, you can't order items on that form again. This bring s conundrum. If you don't order enough on a form, you can't order it again. If you over order, you'll have to pay for unbeaten food. When I asked how many dishes should I order, they refused to quantify it. So, we've established the obvious problem now. The food itself was ok in parts. Sushi was much better than most franchise restaurants in UK, though not comparable to ones on Japan. Sashimi was surprisingly tasty - except the tuna which lacked fatty parts (in sushi/sashimi fatty part of the tuna is often the prized part). Unfortunately, rest of the food want great. Chicken ball for not taste like tsukune, but more like cheap ones that's floating in Chinese noodles. Yakitori had strange sauce and did not taste anything like the real stuff. Tempura was not deep fried in crispy coating - instead of had thick batter around it like fritta. Gyoza and edamame was decent. Service was ok - a little cold perhaps but not unpleasant and reasonably prompt. If being able to eat loads of mock Japanese food is your thing, this is the right place for you. At 26eur, it's not a bad value for money. But it wasn't for us.

The buffet style ordering is, at €39 per person, over priced. The process was explained as being that price for the single self selecting buffet but the resultant bill of €95 (€39 x 2 plus drinks) for two proved this to not be the truth. Quality of sushi was average when compared to restaurants experienced in North America and London. I would advise choosing from the menu not the buffet, if indeed you did visit this restaurant.

I decide to go to sushi with my friends on vacation. we sit at 21, we order immediately and at 22 arrive the first 4 painful spring rolls, then nothing for another 20 minutes. it all comes together and the color of the fish was vomitable. the tuna was black, the salmon slimy and the rice of a sticky that was scary. the fried chicken was so hard that the breading did not even break by committing. the incompetent waiters and did not give any Response to the questions they were asked. after paying the penalty for not finishing what we had ordered because inedible, the evening ended at home where 6 people were sick until the next morning. the only positive note of the place is the water, but that costing € 5 a bottle makes you stop the desire to drink.

We went with friends because the only AYCE that had free tables (we understood why). The staff can't even speak English, we asked different waiters for water and sauces several times but we just couldn't communicate with them. Spring rolls and udon with a NAUSEABOUT smell, horrifying. The sushi with the rice all sticky and overcooked. We started chatting with other guys at the tables and we were all disgusted. After dinner we all had stomach cramps. Absolutely avoid!!!

We arrived at this restaurant for 21:30 and booked immediately: 45min wait for the first order and in the meantime they return with the paper to ask us if we wanted to order more before the kitchen closed... but what do you do to order again without having eaten first? In the sushi pieces there was little fish and the quality was poor. Sushi arrives and we decide to order again, but they made us wait 40 minutes again and did not bring us everything we had asked for. At the time of the bill only 4 pieces were missing, but they wanted us to eat otherwise we would pay them. Went with 4 friends and waited 45 minutes for the starters to arrive, after another 20 minutes some sushi arrived. Huge pieces 90% rice. The rest of the sushi came some time later. Almost 2 hours for the first order to arrive fully. In the meantime we ordered things that never arrived, drinks included. Once we asked for the bill someone came to control we ate everything we’ve ordered (even if took 2 hours for the whole order to arrive) and because there were 3 pieces left they wanted to charge us for the full roll. Disastrous.

Not worth the hype

I was recommended this place by a couple of people and whilst the food is ok, the service leaves much to be desired. We were missing some items, told a number of people and one of them got the missing items. Then later we could see a member of staff clearly talking about our table right in front of us to his female colleague. After this delay we were told to hurry up if we want to order more food as they were going to close soon, like it was our fault we had to wait so long. We also had to ask for extra glasses, cutlery and soy sauce. No attention to detail and would not return here. Shame.
