Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful pit stop at the Forrest Brewing Company.
The bar service was polite and informative, the waitresses always smiling.
The food was exceptional - we had pork boa bun and a southern fried chicken burger.
The beer is definitely worth having a taste - I suggest a palette to get the most out of your time. They have several seasonal beers.
Forgot to take a photo pre-consumption.

We stopped in after a local hike for lunch and beers. The staff were very friendly and gave enthusiastic advice on how to spend the rest of the afternoon.
We ordered burgers (a beef and a chicken) and they were excellent with large sizes. Chips were perfect.
I had a stout which was great as well. Highly recommend.

A perfect place for great local beers and excellent food. Service was speedy and friendly even though it was busy. The Boa Buns with pork belly were sensational; as was the generous serving of a salmon based pasta from the specials menu. I'd certainly be classified a 'foodie' by friends and don't give undeserved praise. A strong recommend from me!

My family and I were driving home to Melbourne and decided to have brunch here. Family includes 5 adults, 1 baby and 2 toddlers.
Ordered our large order and proceeded to wait, wait, wait and wait even longer. Waitress approached us very casually, with no apology, to say our order never went through and she wanted to take our order again (1 hour later)
They proceeded to give us a refund even before I requested. They couldn’t even refund us on the debit card that I paid on, they had to give us cash instead..
Absolutely no apology or compensation, they still even charged us for the OJ and stale vanilla slice that we received.
The older lady who refunded us treated us as if it was our fault, she was disgustingly rude and I’ve never been treated by a waitress (or whatever she called herself) like that before.
Don’t bother going there if you want a happy and positive eating experience.

Came to the Forrest Brewing Company by chance after seeing the redwoods in the Ottawa’s. This is a little gem that serves good coffee, great beer (the stout was amazing) and surprisingly has a great offering of vegan foods alongside a great regular menu. We shared the shiitake bao as a snack- lovely. Cute outside eating area and nice staff.

We eat here every year and this great pub has something for everyone including my dog. We always eat outside at lunch for this reason - on the way down the coast, and there are lots of dog bowls with water.
The dish that prompted this review was the vegan poke bowl which was glorious! Edamame beans, see plants, delish tofu, kewpie mayo (vegan), sushi rice. Was so delish I took a photo well after starting because so impressed.

I don’t do a lot of reviews for restaurants etc but the food here was SO good I felt I had to give them props. I had the potato and leak soup yesterday and it was the best soup I think I’ve ever had. I had the gf bread with it which was also very tasty. My friends had the chowder, and brisket burger, and everybody loved their food. I will definitely be back!

We have always found the Forrest Brewery to be friendly with great food and beer.
We manage three Airbnb type accomodation places in the area. Our guests consistently feedback very positive experiences. We love the rustic and authentic decor and how hard this business works to be a bench mark for the region.

Casual indoor or outdoor seating with fabulous food. We enjoyed Pork Belly with chats & greens and Prawn/bacon Fettucine in tomato chilli sauce. Most enjoyable menu in country setting with local wines and boutique beers made on-site. Friendly staff and beer tastings available.

Pleasant drive along Great Ocean Road.Booked inside bad move.Several menu items unavailable.Typical boutique beers-they try too hard, too many vatieties, too many dollars, not very good.Ordered mushroom burger, got awful chicken burger.Expensive food for what is produced.Desserts average.
Suggest sit ouside,BYO wine try Rubin sandwich or the unavailable items.

We arrived just before lunch, without a booking. Glad we did as, by the time we left, the rooms and outside were full. It was a Sunday and a nice day, so that probably had something to do with it.
As for the food, we had a really nice lunch. I had a steak sandwich and my husband had the beer fed beef. Both came with the chips that have been written about. We agree that the chips were good. The sandwich and beer fed beef schnitzel were equally as good.
The service was friendly and the food arrived quickly and hot.
My husband had the Irish red beer and enjoyed that. I had the Darraweit apple/pear cider. That was a great hit.
I’d thoroughly recommend eating here, but maybe reserve a table, especially if you wish to eat outside.

Excellent spot for family meal. We had a group of 16 for lunch and the outdoor tables where perfect on a nice summers deal. The staff are friendly & efficient and the meals big, hearty and very tasty. We mainly had the burgers & fish and chips. The beer selection is interesting with a taste for everyone.

Went to Forrest Brewery during a weekend in the Otways (staying at Apollo Bay) and would highly recommend it. Service was super friendly, the beers were delicious and the food was awesome. If you’re in the region then definitely worth paying them a visit.
