Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As the title says the beer at the Toolshed was icy cold and refreshing and my fried Gummy Shark was delicious. Along with crispy hot chips and a fresh and tasty salad I was so glad we choose there rather than the local pub. Thank...you to all for a really great experience on a sunny Sunday afternoon.More

We are so glad you had a wonderful experience and we hope to see you back in front of our warm fire soon!

The chef went to great lengths to cater for a vegan who is allergic to garlic. My specially prepared meal was wonderful. Hubby had his usual Parma and couldn't eat it all as the meals are very generous. Will return very soon. Looking forward to...new delights from the chef who caters to odd people like me!More

When I saw the TOOL SHED I couldn't ride past - set amongst the beautiful surrounds of Noojee country side is an awesome rustic Bar & Restaurant, amazing décor, great outlook, cold beer, good food and a friendly smile to greet you. Perfect spot to...stop while on that ride. I'll definitely be back.More

I ordered a chicken snhnitzel with salad, it had been deep fried, over cooked and burnt black all around the edges, and inedible, served with a small mixed lettice only salad. My lunch companion ordered a tool shed beef burger with bacon and egg ect.the...bacon was burnt black, the egg had been over cooked on a uncleaned hot plate or pan, In appearance it looked like it was dropped in the dirt, my friend said the over cooked meat patty looked iike a brickette, he left meal untouched on the plate I never touched my meal, and took it straight back to the arrogant bush ranger, behind the bar (Manager) as far as he was concerned, the meal was to his standard. As more people find this out-of-the-way place, the busier it will become. It's a lovely setting with really nice outdoor tables under shade. Inside also nice, with a fireplace. Good food.

Stopped here for a quick drink and they were fully booked for lunch. Ordered a simply double espresso and an orange juice. When the bar waiter questioned whether a double espresso meant a double shot, that suggested some doubt into what was to come out....The OJ was in a bottle so no issues there, but the coffee was below average. The venue was packed with travellers and the walls were covered in pics of Noojees history in timber and tramways. There is a restaurant next door which is part of the same crowd.More

My significant other and I decided to take a leisurely drive into Victoria, originally headed for Moe, but decided to take a detour and pop into Noojee. Thought it would be nice to drop into the Noojee Pub, but on arrival it was a very...busy scene, so continued until we found the Outpost Retreat and Toolshed Pub. What an experience. The Toolshed Pub is unique and interesting, with plenty to look at and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Meals are very generous, fairly priced and delicious, would highly recommend dropping in for lunch, although would suggest booking a table as it does become extremely busy. Beautiful part of the world in Autumn, and stop and have a look at the Trestle Bridge while there.More

lm from Daintree Rainforest - Far North Queensland and ive been here on many different occasions. Always on the cards for a return trip and love to get up this amazing country. TOOL SHED - the name alone does it for me - its old,...RUStic and has got authenticity, that raw solid feel, rough cut edging tho comforted by a welcoming fire place that you can add logs too -(maybe ask 1st)....The meals get better everytime l come here and the live music if available is an added bonus of awesomeness.....More

Stayed in the cabins on a bike trip and ate in the Toolshed bar. The cabins were clean and functional (not that we spent much time in them) and a short walk to the bar. The meals were excellent and a few drinks and games...of pool did not spoil the night. Dave the owner then offered to take us for a guided ride down towards Lakes Entrance showing us his favourite roads. We had a great ride down to Lakes Entrance and his hospitality and humour was a highlight of our trip. A great place to visit for a few Sunday afternoon drinks and a good feed in a small picturesque location.More

I’m sure this pub would be a great place to go on a quiet weekend however today was a complete disaster. Got there, ordered a bowl of chips with our drinks. Sat down and there were piles of plates outside which had a huge swarm...of wasps around it, the whole time we were there not one staff member came to clean it up. An hour later people who ordered full meals after us had eaten their meals and left. We asked the staff and were told our chips were 2 minutes away. Another 40 minutes passed and still no chips. There were three other tables outside who had also been waiting a very long time for food. There was no communication from staff as to what was going on and eventually they just stopped coming out all together. The one poor guy in the bar was getting hammered with complaints and had just had enough. We, along with a number of other people ended up just walking out with no offer of a refund or apology. I also had to ask for toilet paper and there was none so resorted to napkins. I’m a reasonable person but it was a VERY bad experience and I will never be going back.More

Recently ate here on a Saturday night. Its a bit 'catch as catch can' but the bar staff were friendly (even if they couldn't find the booking we had made earlier in the day), and the food was good pub grub. I had the bangers...and mash (always a winner with me, although the accompanying veggies at $4 weren't great) and partner had salmon (what else) which she seemed to enjoy. Outdoor dining was fine as we had the dog, along with many other diners, and I think it could get pretty rowdy later on _ sadly missed that. But we did enjoy itMore

Arrived with family and friends on a recent rainy Sunday- to our surprise a band was setting up for the day. At 12noon the fire place was in action and already a dozen people inside enjoying the warmth in this quirky Toolshed. We ordered drinks...and sat at the bar. I can’t say the older lady behind the bar was very welcoming and then her partner/husband mentioned -geez your early( wouldn’t that mean more money spent) tho we were in good spirits so we just shrugged it off then moved to our 12person table. After everyone in our group arrived we proceeded to order- meals came out fairly quickly and with everyone ordering differently on the menu it was very well executed. From Pablo prawns, cheese burger, Parma to Lamb & Rosemary Hot pot pie everything was excellent. The 3 piece band was fantastic, happy and lively which really created an exceptional afternoon- we literally spent 4-5hrs here.....it was 4years since I’d been here and it did not disappoint. Owners could be more welcoming as 1st impressions are everything.More

Ate at the Bistro which was part of the Bar as the famous restaurant was not open during the week. Loved the decor and atmosphere of the place. Bar lady was great to chat with and so nice too. We had garlic bread to start...and it was 2 long rolls cut into halves but we could not taste any garlic on them at all and they cost $10 which we thought was a bit steep. Anyhow, for main courses I had the grilled barramundi and it was delicious with 2 large servings of it. My partner had the pork belly and thoroughly enjoyed that too. Those meals were reasonable in price and we would return if in the area again. Would love to eat at the restaurant.More
