Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My daughter and I went last year and had a great lunch. We went last week and had a terrible lunch. We both had the fish of the day, Mahi Mahi. Dry, tough, inedible. It was like the worst cut from a fish you could...ever want. Not a nice juicy tender fillet of fish, but an old boot. Bringing this to the attention of the staff, they were very apologetic. Ask what else we would like, removed our plates. On checkout, the fish had been removed from the bill, and more apologies. OK. But it gets worse! They have these signature pies. So to take away I ordered 2 potato and leek pies and 2 beef brisket pies. Normal sized pies, not family sized. $18 each!!! I realised later. Way over the top. The potato pie was passable, the beef pie a shocker. Dry as a bone, tasteless, stringy beef, limp soggy pastry. A huge disappointment. Last year I had eaten the beef brisket pie at lunch. Delicious. What a fall from grace.More

I arrived at 11.40 am from Sydney while on my up north. The female restaurant receptionist said I was in-between breakfast and lunch seating. I told her I had come for lunch and could she book me in for a table at 12 pm and she...wrote my name on the table list. She suggested walking around the dam and to have a look in the garden centre for 20 minutes. Please note the temperature for Monday the 5 th was 33 degrees Celsius with extremely high humidity at that time. I arrived back at the restaurant at 12 pm experiencing the heat of the day and this person had the gaul to tell me there were no tables and she could only put on the lounges outside. She waisted 20 minutes of my time as she should have told me this information before sending me on a walk in such heat.I said that is not good enough and left the restaurant and she didn't seem to care. I think John Singleton needs to send his staff on a refresher hospitaly course which emphasises a caring responsibility for prospective customers. After being treated so poorly Saddles Restaurant (Mt White) has lost my patronageMore

Came with a booking but staff have an attitude to match the price of food. There isn't any other rude place that you could compare to this in NSW. They don’t know a single thing about hospitality. I can’t recommend it, nor will I ever...go there again.More

This is an excellent place for a meal - we went for breakfast - with farm produce on the menu. It’s a well run facility with very friendly staff, seems popular with cyclists on Sundays, and has brilliant traditional meals. Most places have a 10%...service surcharge for weekends, so in our case 4 people for breakfast meals with coffee was AU$147. Totally recommend though, it’s worth the effort to seek out and enjoyMore

I booked nearly two weeks ahead to get a table for breakfast with my family visiting from overseas, and we were all looking forward to it. However once seated we had to find someone to take our order after about 25 minutes. Then it took...another 35 for our food to arrive. The food was very nice but the slow service and lack of care and attention ruined our experience and made the $150 bill sting a bit. It’s hard to turn tables around in 90 mins when you are ignored for half that time.More

What a lovely Australian gem. It hits the high notes with an iconic Australian bush location. Great atmosphere and superb food. Something for everyone on the menu whether you’re looking for something light and familiar or something more along the lines of gourmet. Portions were...good , flavours were amazing. Prices for dishes likewise range from reasonable to expensive. The service was attentive the wine list was good.More

I had not been for a little while and went today with an old friend for lunch. Our waitress today was outstanding, she was attentive, knowledgable and friendly without being over the top. She really made us feel welcome. The food was beautiful, well seasoned,...fresh and full of flavour. The setting as always was great. Casual, relaxed and comfortable.More

The food was lovely, that's about the only good thing. Some of the staff were rude and the hour wait for lunch was ridiculous. We were all starving by the time the food came out. Trying to get someone to take a drinks order and...a dessert order was painstaking. We won't be back.More

We went with high expectations only to be extremely disappointed. Staff friendly, service efficient although didnt recall who ordered what. The baked eggs were well overcooked - extremely hard and well overcooked. Toast cold and undercooked. Avocado rock hard and coffee cold. Pleasant atmosphere- lots...of potential well overpriced. Just need to get the simple things right.More

As usual the service and food was spectacular, BUT I ordered a pork and fennel sausage roll to take away. It was most disappointing as I have never had anything but great food. This looked and tasted like it had been recooked more than once....My garbage bin loved it. This will not deter me from going back as it is a favourite place however I was surprised they let it out of the kitchen.More

What a beautiful setting this place has. That is the end of anything good about this place. The staff were incredibly rude, the food was disgusting with my partner finding an elasticband cooked in his pie. They could not cater for our friend who was...a vegan, and actually gave her an asparagus thing with cheese in it. Other than that they ignored her. There were 20 of us and they just seemed that they didn't want the business. The rude comments by the waiters had me glad that I am a calm person. There is a review further down by MJD59SYDNEY, and everything they said is true. We were waiting for our table when we heard the waitress tell them they had to go. We are part of a huge NSW car club, and we will be making sure everyone knows about this place. Shame on them.More

Can't beat the location but the service was very slow and parts of the meal left a lot to be desired. More specifically, the egg meals were way overcooked. One of the group requested runny eggs but they arrived hard. Another dish of baked eggs...was also well overcooked. Despite having a relatively tight booking (1000-1130) for a group of 10 people, it took a long time for orders to eventually be taken. As a result, we felt a bit rushed at the end as the table was needed for a lunch booking. Feedback was given when we were settling the bill but one is never sure if it gets back to those who can do something to address the issues.More

Visited for brunch with 8 friends . Booking was 10 am. Food was ordered and arrived to table at 11 am. It was cold and overcooked and generally inedible. Drinks were slow in arriving at table, the service was chaotic. The wait staff had no...idea who ordered what meals when they were eventually brought out. At 11.40 we were told we needed to vacate table for lunch setting. Staff were rude and arrogant. A very unpleasant experience. We have often visited this restaurant for lunch as it is in a beautiful location, but rude staff, poor service and inedible goid certainly bakes one reassess the $405 bill for breakfast.More

We met friends at Saddles after hearing very positive feedback about this restaurant and we were looking forward to an enjoyable dining experience. Firstly the customer service staff were very professional and friendly and were happy to provide advice about the menu which we found...to be very helpful. Secondly, after receiving our meals we were somewhat disappointed with what we had ordered. Perhaps it was what we ordered that did not live up to expectations - three of us ordered the Lamb Cutlets and what we received were two small cutlets, three asparagus and a helping of cous cous. For $40 plus dollars per dish, we were somewhat underwhelmed. Thirdly, at least the dessert items were enjoyable. Overall, a great location and venue, excellent staff but somewhat disappointing in regards to the actual meals. I do not think we would go back for seconds.........More
