Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were looking for somewhere to eat saturday night and walked into this restaurant. Its comfortable and clean. We didnt over stretch on the menu and ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken along with bryani rice (very nicely cooked) and roti (instead of naan)..the butter chicken was very nice, the tikka masala was a bit different to what we are normally used to but it had some very nicely cooked onion in the gravy and it was medium spicy which was also very nice..the roti is home made in the tandoor and had lovely texture and flavour. The restaurant only had a few people dining in but was doing steady take away trade..seems to be a family run restaurant and the staff were friendly and very nice..we enjoyed our visit. Its not licensed and is BYO only but there are liquor outlets close by in the area.

Love this place. I always get the prawn masala which is quite spicy but very tasty. My second favourite dish would be the lamb Rogan josh which my partner always orders. Best Indian restaurant in the area.

The restaurant was recommended by a friend but it would not be my recommendation. Yes the menu is well presented but the food looks nothing like the pictures. Service was slow and the prawn curry was small prawns with the tails on. The chicken was practical non existent. Would not be back.

I ordered Fish Amritsari. Generally Fish amritsari is battered and deep fried fish without the gravy, but this one was with gravy, the menu doesn’t mention it properly. Also, I told them to keep It medium spice , but it was still too hot and taste was below average. Felt like fish put in onion tomato curry , very bad.

Ordered a takeaway - butter chicken and a prawn dish.
Tasted pretty average.
As per previous reviewers the meat/prawn was limited swimming in a huge volume of sauce.
About 90 minutes following the meal I developed abdominal pain - can’t be sure but would have to put in down to this....won’t be back

Look at the photos!! Food is very tasty but the amount of beef was laughable. Cutting costs by filling up the container with gravy is fraudulent.

We have eaten here many times.
I love their food, all of it is fresh and tasty. My husband loves the beef vindaloo but I must admit I am more a butter chicken girl.
The rice is light and fluffy. It is amazing how many places cannot get this right.
I wish they had Mango chicken and Lamb Pasanda. Qld taught introduced me to mango chicken but I have not found it in WA. England taught me about lamb pasanda, but again I cannot find it here.
Naan breads can sometimes be doughy and garlic is spread on afterwards rather than cooked into the naan, but this doesn't stop me from enjoying it!

We visited on a mid week night and were the only two in the restaurant.
With an open kitchen we could see most of our order being sourced from the deep freeze. Food was very spicy and overall we were disappointed with our meals.

The Lamb Madrasi and Butter Chicken were my go to each night. The madrasi had a delicious little kick to it, full of flavour, and the butter chicken was a delightful sweet, fragrant rendition of an old favourite.
I had garlic naan each night.
Can't speak highly enough of the food here. A no-frills setting where the food absolutely shines. Will DEFINITELY be back at D'Tandoor next time I'm in Perth!

So after not long being in Perth, we decided it had been too long since we had enjoyed an Indian meal. Coming from the UK, our standards were high. For location and convenience, the D’Tandoor restaurant was ideal, with fairly good reviews, so we decided to indulge and grab a bottle of vino on the way as it was BYO.
The dining experience started rather well, the onion bhajis were excellent and tasty. Our taste buds tingling, we eagerly anticipated the main course, to our dismay. I ordered a madras and my partner ordered the butter chicken and we shared a naan and rice (more on that later). I asked for my dish to be extra spicy but was informed that this was already the case, so I went with the usual. When the dishes arrived, it was a let down. My madras was ‘spiced’ using pure curry or chilli powder, leaving a bitter and bland taste in the mouth. My partners butter chicken tasted more like tikka masala than butter chicken and was also a deep red colour which is unusual for that dish.
The kashmiri naan we ordered was harder than Chuck Norris and was more useful as a paper weight than a source of food.
Overall, the main courses were very disappointing, but, not to be outdone, then came the bill. And it was a big un. For our single starter, two mains, one rice and one nan (it was byo) it came to a hefty $84! Hardly value for money I hear you say, whilst slowly dunking another rich tea biscuit and you are right! Bordering on extortion for below average food, I would rate this restaurant as one of the poorest Indians I have sampled, save for the bhajis and will most definitely not be returning.

Ghosht Sagwala was superb. After an onion bhaji entre we all shared s range of dishes over basmati rice.
Easily one of the better Indian restaurants locally.
