Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the place to get great traditional burgers without the fuss (and price) of the fancy burger joints. Good old burgers and soup with fast service.

We rocked up, there were 10 people out front so it was quite quiet. here is me thinking it would not take that long, 30 min later we got 2 beef bacon burgers. They were barely warm and went cold before finishing them. I threw...the rest of mine away. Also had NO seasoning in the burger and it tasted sweet as a toffee! All this for $26 lol. Have been coming here for 40+ years and it is at it's worst. Please hire a Ramsey style consultant as you lot clearly need one.More

Good place to stop for a quick bite at night. Got a roaring fire outside to sit around or seating area if you want to sit down. Famous for their lovely pea and ham soup.

Pea and ham soup was not what we expected. We have had it before and it was great! But now it’s just brown and gluggy, made with chickpeas! Ugh! Isn’t it supposed to be with green peas? Extremely disappointing! And the person serving was loud...and condescending too!More

An institutionalised, cult favourite with West Australian’s .. Eating the legendary Pea n Ham soup, burgers and chips around a fire pit outside, in Winter on a really busy street, shouldn’t work, yet it does!! Alfred’s food is like an awesome home cooked meal, so...tasty, with portion sizes that beggar belief. Staff are great, atmosphere is great, food is sensational!! No wonder you’ve been around for nearly 80 years (PS.. not just in Winter, but all year round)More

For o WA experience to try - yuck. Dry patty on par with HJ or Maccas. Stale rolls and chips cold. Definitely will not be repeating the experience. Only nice thing to say was the heritage train carriage was cool.

It's a bit different, and on first appearance, looks a bit down-market. Nothing fancy, but great fast food that "runs-rings" around the likes of Hungry Jacks, etc. Prices are reasonable & the staff service always friendly. No matter whether it's stinking hot or cold it's...always busy, and for good reason. Right now, the weather in Perth is hot, but in the winter there's a "raging" wood fire to lift your spirits. Given the popularity of this venue, you will have to wait for your order to be filled, but that wait is never very long.More

Bought a steak burger, 2x hamburgers for the kids and a Burger with bacon for myself. Have not been here for two decades and will likely be another two before I go back. Simple straight up truth, is we waited forever, to be served burgers...that were closer to cold than hot and the burger pattie was not moist and juicy, but firm. No way this was 80/20 beef to fat, was more like Coles bought lean mince, which does not a burger make. The burger was just average, not terrible, but not really that good either. It is over rated and I suspect most reviews, are of those who eat here after a night out at the pub, like I used to way back when.More

At first I thought this restaurant was over rated but I can see why it’s always busy! The food is decently priced and tastes amazing. Good serving sizes. Wait times were quite long but the fire is nice to sit around.

There’s nothing like a piping hot Pea and Ham soup while Sitting beside an log fire while waiting for Hawaiian burger. Al fresco.. Recalling visible changes over the decades the trees, the paving with the Fireside the park benches. While preserving - devoted staff and...the menu.. Thankfully they have a much larger kitchen these days, but the old wood stoves are still fired up for the heartwarming soup..More

Great burgers and steak sandwiches. In winter pea soup. This place is an institution in Guildford. Not fancy although there is a carriage you can sit in to eat.
