First time visitors for Sunday lunch. Warm welcome, Shown to table, drinks order taken arrived promptly. Food order taken, and this is where it stated to go downhill. A long wait for starters to arrive, food was served over cooked and completely unappetising. White bait...was had been so over cooked you couldn’t even recognise it white bait. Dried out and blackened in colour. Mozzarella sticks solid in the middle through over heating. When asked; how was your meal? We did respond honestly. When the mains finally arrived, again another long wait, we couldn’t have been more disappointed. The Yorkshire pudding was completely inedible. They were so hard and dried out, you risked breaking teeth. Not enough veg for 5 people and what was served was poor. Peas swimming in warm water, watery cabbage and cauliflower. We felt too embarrassed to complain again, plus we were all extremely hungry as this point. Maybe we were at the end of the Sunday lunch service? So we got was had been hanging around for a while. It wasn’t freshly cooked, it had been heated up )for too long!) Maybe they were short staffed, who knows. But quality was poor. It’s not difficult to produce a good roast Shame it went so wrong on this occasion. Like I said, maybe we were just unlucky.....More
