My wife and I found this pub about 18 months ago.We both enjoy it enormously and try to eat there once a week. The virus forced us into the garden when reopening in July but what a garden. Apparently they had spent a lot of...time and effort improving it and it showed. The food is excellent and the beer is Harveys ( and is kept very well ). Obviously we went back inside when the weather turned and the landlord had made it as safe as possible. We were relaxed. Thoroughly recommend this pub.More

Lovely lunch in a beautiful setting, walked in the woods and really enjoyed the lunch at the pub. Very well organised, super food and an excellent selection of draught beers.

My son and I visited the pub today. Food was wonderful and the staff really helpful. Even in these every changing times it was welcoming, a lovely country pub. Well done and thanks for making an autumn afternoon that much better.

Booked a table for a Thursday night, which happened to be the first night of the new pub restrictions, masks 10pm closing etc. We were the only booking that night but that will not take away the excellent experience of eating top class food in...a lovely environment. I think the landlady's name was Kate (apologies if I am wrong) and she was very welcoming. My wife had the confit of duck and I had the brisket of beef. Both served in excellent quantities and with superb gravy. The beef just melted in the mouth and was splendid. We then shared a pint sundae! This was ice cream, brownies, chocolate served in a pint mug, absolutely gorgeous. Kate said that trade had been good while the weather was good as they had a garden, but pubs like this need support and custom even in bad weather! We would definitely return and visitors to the garden of England should seek this place out. Excellent beer (Harveys Best) and, according to my wife, superb wine. Well done one and all.More

Had lunch here the other day,not bad food, but nothing amazing. At least it does not smell when you walk in the doorway. Pub is in a lovely area of Perrywoods, but gardens etc needs a bit of TLC, when we went the car park full of...cars which was a good sign, but not many people actually in the pub. Would probably go again, but just for drinks.More

We pride ourselves on good pub grub and our lovely garden. During lockdown we worked hard on improving the deco and garden and so far our customers have been delighted with all the changes since we reopened. Sorry you felt your experience with us was...More

Lovely pub with friendly staff. Went for lunch today. Covid safety rules in place, had a lovely lunch with my Mum and sampled their own Rose and Crown lager. Always a safe bet to go there, never disappoints.

Had a lovely pub lunch at the wood in the heart of the wood. It’s been freshened up inside and out during lockdown but thankfully has lost none of its character. Friendly, good menu, good garden. New wood burner looks like it’ll be cosy during...the winterMore
