The pisco sour refill was good. The food was ok but we found it a little bit overpriced. However there was a very nice english spoken waiter who saved the evening.

As every year we started our holidays eating at this restaurant but unfortunately this year things changed. The waiter was a mess, slow, brought different meals than the ones asked for, kept giving excuses but still kept doing things wrong. Cesar, the owner, wasn’t at...the restaurant as usual and his wife wasn’t polite at all when we asked her for help with the waiter, our dishes and the half an hour it took him to bring us a beer. There are many new and old restaurants near by worth giving them a try.... La casa de Cesar will not be visited by us for some time.More

I was a bit afraid of trying this restaurant, as many fellow tripadvisors had complained about the terrible waits and the irritating slowness of the kitchen. I experienced none of that. Quite the opposite, service was faster than average even with a full house. And...the waitress was lovely and attentive. The place is set on a cozy house atop a hill close to the main square, and boasts a beautiful terrace as well as a salon. We chose to eat inside as the night was cool, and they don't have heaters outside. We tried the house ceviche (good), the gratin scallops (great), the octopus (decent, but overcooked) and the rabbit (good). There are also pasta and meat options to choose from. Servings are large, and can be easily shared if you are not starving. The octopus portion, for example, is massive. The wine list is short and nothing to write home about, but the prices are very reasonable (bottles from 8 USD and up). We were kindly offered a free shot of liquor with the check. All in all, one of the best options in Papudo: fair food, relaxed and fairly priced.More

We had a very nice lunch Cesar's. The service was friendly and efficient. It took a while for the food to arrive (seafood casserole that we shared, it was very large), which is a good sign. We sat on the deck shaded from the heat....This restaurant is a few blocks away from the beach, by the plaza and is quiet.More

The food is great, but it gets really crowded during the weekends, the service is good but sometimes people arrive after you and end up eating before you.

This was a let down from start to finish. Bad drinks, bad food, terrible service. My wife and I both had pastas, both had sand in them and were terrible. Many tables sat after us and ate well before us. I acknowledge that our Spanish...is not very good, but this is not an excuse for bad service and a poor attitude. This was easily the worst meal of our 20 day trip thus far and we are 12 days in. In short, go somewhere else.More

Wonderful place, great service. Cozy fireplace for the winter, even a fire outside on the deck. Good place for couples or families.

Good choice in Papudo since there is little to choose from. Good food and service. The tortellinis were huge and very good. The ambience is nice too.
