Lovely meal, friendly service, good cosy atmosphere. Everything you would expect from a lovely country pub! Dogs are welcome as well which was great as we had our pooch with... More

Booked a table for lunch which is about half way round on a walk from Hartington . Very warm welcome from landlord and staff. Good local beers and although only had sandwiches they were delicious (especially the sausage and onion) A very nice pit stop!

Traditional local pub with solid menu, friendly landlord good selection of beer. Quite a small car park so if you are driving arrive early evening. Two of our meals had far too much salt on both the main course and the veg. which was disappointing but hopefully unusual as the other two meals were fine. Good atmosphere in the pub... More

We stayed in Longnor this time last year and visited the Packhorse twice and it was great, we tried it again last night and it was just as good. My wife had the duck, which looked fantastic and tasted as good, i had the burger, which was also fab. The landlord and staff are very friendly. The landlord suggested a... More

We visited The Packhorse on a lovely spring evening - the beers are excellent, the landlord very helpful and hospitable, the lamb pie exceptional and so was the fish - the only downside were the chips - not the best, a bit thin and soggy but having said that would definitely visit again !!

Living only ten miles from this lovely pub, we've frequented it quite a few times, I even wrote a review five years ago. The high standards have been maintained, and the landlord continues to keep excellent beers.. My wife and I went for an early evening meal last Saturday with my son and daughter-in-law and their two young boys. The... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at this inn after visiting my cousin. I loved the lemon dressed salmon fillets and their chef's special dessert chocolate fudge cake. Very comforting good food is served here!

What a little gem to find in this village. Staff were friendly and helpful. Menu had a great selection and food was all very fresh! Portion sizes were big and price very reasonable. I liked that the pies changed each day and were made fresh that day and you could taste it! Chips too were clearly home made and not... More
