Enjoyed a beautiful meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary at lunchtime today. Food was delicious. Lovely cosy pub with great atmosphere. Very covid safe with one way system and hand sanitizers everywhere. Staff attentive and friendly. Don’t want to recommend them too much as I...don’t want it to be fully booked next time we decide to go. However credit where credits due, an absolute definite must to eat there and very reasonably priced too.More
The meal was standout. We had the bangers and mash, wild boar stew, baked goats cheese salad, scallops, and finished with the apple crumble and a scoop of honeycomb ice cream. All were absolutely delicious and a fabulous price. Everything was locally sourced- our wine...was from 20 minutes away.
Great atmosphere as well, and a really cozy feel to the place. Would HIGHLY recommend.More
We took my elderly mother here last weekend for her birthday and cannot wait to return! She is in a wheelchair and the staff could not have been more helpful - ensuring that we had a table that could be easily accessed. The food was...first class - roast chicken, lamb and suet pudding went down a treat. The portion sizes were super and the quality of the food superb. My daughter had the nut roast and said it was excellent. The members of staff were so very welcoming and kind - we will be back!! Thank you so much for making the meal such a special occasion for my mother.More
Took my Mum out for her first trip after covid 19 shielding as a highly vulnerable Person. Warm sunny day, so we sat outside and were quickly served our drinks and menu. The lunch Grilled liver with onions for my Mum was succulent, and perfect...and my grilled bream was delightful and the ginger pudding with honeycomb ice cream to die for! It is so refreshing to find such good food, locally sourced close to home! Every effort was made to ensure socially distancing even pepper and salt in disposable tubs to reduce handling! Our neighbouring table were from Bracknell so word travels fast when something is good !More
We went to the George last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had the most lovely meal. The staff were very professional, friendly and efficient without being in your face and the food was, as always, perfect. For main my husband had a beef...stroganoff and I had the bream with a courgette risotto - definitely not your standard pub grub, it was perfect!
Good size portions at good prices.
They have got the social distancing thing perfect, with a one way system in place and with tables spaced nicely apart, without really affecting the atmosphere to much. A feat in its self!
This place has got it right on every level, well worth a visit.More
Fancying a change, we jumped in the car and the Mrs chose this restaurant going by Tripadvisors reviews. After a drive through some of the most beautiful parts of Kent there is on offer, you come across The George Inn, which is wonderfully decorated with...an array of beautiful plants and gorgeous garden.
On arrival, we was greeted by a team of warm and inviting ladies. Who although had to adhere to the strict social distancing measures, couldn’t have been more helpful or made us feel more welcome.
Once seated, service was swift and always accompanied with a smile. Then came the best bit...
Which took very little time to get to us, but was absolutely stunning, piping hot and packed with flavour.
My partner had the chorizo chicken which was cooked to perfection and was served along side one of the nicest sauces, I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, silky smooth like velvet on my tongue.
I had the steak and kidney suet pudding, which once again, was fantastic, the meat melted in my mouth.
Both dishes were served with expertly cooked roast potatoes with a crunchy coating and fluffy centre. And the veg, was so fresh it was as though they had picked it, from their garden as we arrived. They were more than accommodating, for our 10 month old son, whom they offered smaller versions of most of the meals on the menu and they brought over a sturdy and modern high chair for him to be seated. After our mains, we had a good socially distance chat, with the staff, while we waited on pudding.
Due to the sizes of the portions you get for mains, we decided to share a sticky toffee pudding, once again staff were very accommodating, when I requested to have custard along side the ice cream. The sauce was thick dark and sticky and the sponge was to die for, along with a jug of REAL, custard that they made for us.
If you’re in Kent and you’re looking for somewhere that has a friendly atmosphere and grade A+ food, then this is the place for you. Can’t recommend highly enough will be backMore
Tonight we had an amazing takeaway meal from the George. The food was delivered promptly, was hot and very safely packaged and delivered. The food itself was outstanding. I had a chicken breast stuffed with chorizo with an amazing sauce.
Would highly recommend for quality...food safely delivered within 5 miles I believe.More
