A group of seven of us visited for dinner. This is a community pub and, as non-locals, we received a warm welcome. There was a reasonable selection of beers/cider but the menu was a little limited as stocks were being run down prior to holidays. The food was tasty, well presented and generally enjoyed. The only issue was that both... More

Firstly I want to say how much I respect the fact that this is a "Community" venture. For that, the residents of Crosby Ravensworth are to be highly commended. The staff here were very pleasant and helpful. This was our second visit. I think on the first one I gave 5 sadly on this visit I can only give 2.... More

Searching for somewhere off the beaten track then this is an ideal pub. Beautiful drive from Shap over the hills for 3 or so miles to a beautifully presented venue serving delicious food in good portions and with friendly welcoming service. Really enjoyed our visit here to this community pub so much so we're planning to make a return visit... More

We were staying just up the road in Crake Trees Manor (see my review on that - a great place to stay on a weekend away!) & they recommended this pub for dinner - it is a community run pub which wouldn't survive without the support of the community & anyone passing won't be disappointed if they stop off -... We were staying up the road in crake trees manor and walked the mile or so down the road for a pub tea, we arrived just around half 7 to be told they had run out of food! I appreciate that this is a rural area but for a weekend this is not great. The pub also had a cluster... More

Second visit, we walked done from crake trees manor for our evening meal, the menu is not huge, but nice choices, we both had the burger, a huge portion for 11.50. The chips were yummy sprinkled in rosemary. I had chocolate torte for pudding, one of the best. Staff were all friendly. Goog selection of real ale.

We love the fact that this pub was purchased by 'shareholders' from the village and beyond when the former owner died. The food was good and the atmosphere cheerful. People were friendly and we could walk to it from our cottage.
