Called in here 28/04/2017 for our tea. Very welcoming. Food and service were excellent. Fish and chips came with home made sauce which tasted lovely. Friends had steak n ale pie which they said was really really lovely. Would definitely recommend. Friendly waiting staff and an excellent welcome. Thumbs up x

How have we not found this little gem on our previous visits to D&G? Warmest of welcomes from the lovely landlady and her delightful staff. Delicious dinner - don't know how they serve food of this calibre at these prices! We've missed this place on previous visits to the area but we'll DEFINITELY be back. Very highly recommended - not... More

A very laid back and comfortable dining experience and the staff were very nice. Food quality was great and priced very reasonably. Venue itself is a little dated but adds to the charm. Was very pleased to know that card payment was accepted as some isolated placed still only accept cash. The only thing missing was a Bitter Lemon beverage... More

We traveled to Scotland from Dartmouth and didn't want to travel too far for something to eat. We noticed the Cock Inn was about 10 minutes up the road so thought we would give it a go. Soon as we got there the staff were very accommodating and friendly, took our order for drinks as soon as we sat down... More

What a jewel - not only is it the 2nd oldest pub in Scotland, there is such a welcome vibe coming out from the people in there. Yes, it is not posh, doesnt need to be, but it has people working in there who have the banter and can give it out as much as they take it. We popped... More

Popped in for lunch en route to Port William. We just had a sandwich and a drink, but they were excellent and the owners were very friendly.

WS out for a drive in the coach with our very relaxed party and came across the cock inn. Popped into say could they cater for snacks for 32 at this short notice and could not have been more obliging. Explained that would be soup or sandwich which was great. Has sandwich salads and chips for £6 great value for... More

Popped in after walking the dog on the beach. Had a drink and a bar meal each. Food was hot and made fresh to order. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go back
