Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My title says it all. We wanted to stop for lunch en route from Ascoli to Sulmona and so drove a long way out of the way after booking two weeks prior. Long way off our route, down narrow farm lanes, under stone bridges, and...up the hill to finally reach the restaurant right on time at 13:00. The place was shut tight; no one answered the doors; no one answered the phone. We had our hotel phone to check--same thing, no answer. This is NOT the way to run a restaurant!More

We were taken here by friends who know the area well. In fact, when we first tried to book it was full but some favours were pulled and we managed to get in. What an experience. What great food. What superb wine. All served with...charm and humour, in amazing surroundings. We started on a slightly down note. I am gluten intolerant. When we explained this there was a brief pause until our host understood that it was intolerance, not celiac. Obviously the latter would cause them some problems in the kitchen but when we explained that I was just avoiding gluten the problem vanished. Indeed, they absolutely excelled themselves as every course containing gluten was mirrored by a serving for me which was "senza glutine". Fantastic service, especially as they were busy but the kitchen excelled. The whole meal was amazing. The range of foods, and the artistic presentation made the experience extraordinary. As mentioned, the local wine we chose was lovely and we left full (very), happy, (very) and amazed at the low charge made for our meal. If you can get in go. Drive for hours. Amazing.More

We had a wonderful dinner at Sapori de la Campagna. Immaculate service, delicious courses and a very special space made that dinner spectacular. I recommend it to anyone who visits Abruzzo.

We went for lunch and had a very pleasant experience. The place is very rustic and the food is excellent. Definitely not the last time.

How generous can one be? So much attention for detail, for their food and especially for their customers!!! I have never experienced this. These people cook with their heart and you can feel it. They made me feel like I was family, but then a...family that cooks really, really well. Beautiful food and people. Need I say more?More

This ristorante & agriturismo is managed by 2 sisters: one the chef, the other at the restaurant. Nested in the beautiful valley in Ofena, a rich wine & olive oil region in Abruzzo, this place offers a whimsical visit to enjoy a great romantic meal...or a perfect day with family & friends. The ristorante offers not only the indoor seating but a beautifully decorated terrace offering great views of the nearby mountains. The sisters have thought about every detail knowing that eating is a sensorial experience: the decor, the 'fantasy' in the presentation of every dish, the authentic flavors of the local cuisine reinvented! One of the sisters is a very knowledgeable sommelier who guides you to the perfect pairing from the apperitivo, the appetizer, meal & dessert. Not to miss is the house appetizer, a collection of about 6 delicious & unique dishes. I have never tried 'fried lamb' and it was a perfect part of the various entrée offerings. As agriturismo, they serve the vegetables grown on their on land! Great Value-price relationship. A must visit restaurant.More

in short, every "department" is great:- ambience - old (maybe 200-300 years) building, with a nice restoration of what would have been a cellar originally; views - over olive groves, down to vineyards in the Tirreno valley, with mountains at about 1000 metres bounding the...far side of the valley hospitality - very welcoming, front of house is run by the two daughters of the house food - not just lovely, but the menu also changes with the seasons, driven by availability. It is indicative that they often present at regional Slow Food exhibitions.... value - as others have noted, good value for money.More

We stumbled on this roadside restaurant at 2 in the afternoon and after looking at our hungry eyes, and consulting the kitchen they agreed very kindly to seat us. This was real local country cooking. The local lentils were great as was the pasta and...chickpease cooked with saffron. We both followed this with lamb they raise and butcher their own. It was tender and sweet, one grilled the other cooked in fresh breadcrumbs. We split a desert and had a glass of wine - the winding roads discouraged wine for the driver and the bill came to 65 euro, not cheap, but not bad given the quality. Would drive out of our way to return.More

For the quality of food, and price you pay this is far and above the best restaurant in the area. In addition, the staff is extremely friendly, and the ambience charming (no television in the dining room a huge plus for me!). The specialty is...the multi-course anti pasto starter. But I can certainly recommend the pasta, and dessert also (sfoglie di crema vaniglia especially). Even the quality of the coffee is good, and if you are adventuresome you can try one of the alcohol-soaked sugar cubes. Do call ahead to book as they are often full, and you don't want to be disappointed. Closed Sunday evenings and Thursdays.More

I was so happy to enter this charming restaurant if only to escape the blistering heat on a quiet Monday afternoon! What followed was a most deliciious meal with charming hostesses Serena and Livia spoiling us with a large selection of antipasti. Each dish came...with details of the ingredients and how it was prepared. We enjoyed exquisite freshly baked rolls. My favourites were zucchini filled with ricotta and anchovy and the baked polenta. It was too hot to sit in the outdoor terace and garden but the dining room was welcoming and relaxing with the most lovely colourful crockery. It was like being in the home of a friend. There was also a small range of local produce for sale, such as honey and preserves. I suspect a meal including pasta and salad would be even more amazing but the generous serves were more than enough for our lunch in this roadside haven. One of best meals in Abruzzo, where the food is very very good.More

I came to this restaurant about six times. It is run by two ladies and their mum is cooking. The restaurant is doing refined local cuisine with their own products. So with the season the menu changes. Starters (about 8 servings of different amuses) are...the best. Don't miss this. Pasta's are great, they could give you a mix if you want. Lamb and Entrecote (Taglata), are great. Think about 40 Euro for a whole dinner including water and local wine. Note the excellent Pizza Fritta what come as bread with the starters. Best wine is the San Calisto what comes from a village (Populi) nearby. This belongs to the top 5 of Italian Reds! Give yourself a treat! Eexcellent decoration, excellent food.More
