Everything you would expect of the oldest pub in town, and probably the county. Great atmosphere, nice crows, solid drinks. Worth a stop.

The barman was full of information on the history of Athlone and the origin of whiskey.The staff were very entertaining and there was a lovely open fire place with a lovely warm fire burning.

Went in for one and the rest in history Thursday night in November and the place was hopping Great musicians. Good barstaff. Good pints and great craic!

Was here on the Sunday of the October Bank Holiday weekend. Said we would go in for 1 or 2 at 4pm ish. Were there until 11ish. Staff, customers all great. Great Pint of Guinness too. Would love a bar like this near me. One...More

Visited last week with my oldest sister and two cousins from Granard. The staff was so friendly there and the locals having beer. Hung out about an hour. Great location also.

This is reported to be the oldest pub in Ireland. That in itself makes it a great place to visit. Great selection of beer and ale. Close to Athlone Castle stop here for a pint a tour of the castle
