The Brass Monkey offers some tasty food at reasonable prices and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is small, so definitely worth booking. I had the fish and chips, which is not something I usually go for but it was up there with the best I've had. Service was great initially, but unfortunately dipped slightly as the night went... Lovely setting in a small cosy atmosphere. Went for deluxe seafood chowder - one of the best we've tasty and very large portion. Fish and chips very good and decent childs options. Service - bit lax but were not overly fussy when it comes to that. You would need to book. Recommended.

Stopped in here for late lunch after doing the cliff path loop. We shared the platter for two! Plenty of food, would probably do 3 people who aren't as greedy as us! Enjoyed it! Coffee was delish!

We were a party of six adults and two high-spirited four-year-olds for a on-spec family lunch on a bright day at the end of December. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and found us a great table tucked away in the corner. With the two boys getting a bit fractious they gave us a little drawing book / puzzle... As regular visitors to Howth and having never tried the Brass Monkey,we visited on a freezing cold day, looking for a late lunch/early dinner somewhere cosy. The Brass Monkey fit the bill perfectly! The view of the west pier is great too. Lovely friendly greeting as we walked in the door, and a choice of a few tables. There was... More

Visited on a cold January afternoon. The place was warm, staff warmer and the food was hot! 6 dinners all with a different dish; everyone was happy. Can't say more than that! I'll be back next time l visit Howth.

My boyfriend arranged My birthday dinner he asked for a cake or for them to do anything even write in chocolate on the side or the plate or even to say happy birthday. He was waiting the whole time and nothing. I told him it was ok but he felt really bad because he had called them about it. Food... More

Cosy and friendly try the calarmi for starters in fact all the seafood was good. As the evening was wet we ate inside but on a warm dry day you can sit outside and watch the busy world go by.
