The Spaniard is a must see in Kinsale. It is a very pleasant 10-15 minute walk from the heart of town and well worth it. The interior is chock full of maritime pictures and decor. You can't skip seeing this ancient pub!

This is a warm cosy pub and restaurant with open fires and a great atmosphere. Good food with great prices as well. There a lots of little nooks that you take over. A really little peace of heaven.

We arrived super late with a party of 9 at closing. One child with special needs/food allergies and a seriously bad mood. The waiter not only helped us find food that he could eat but went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The portions were very large and the food was excellent.

Visited last Saturday lunch. Very warm and inviting. Staff very friendly. We had the chowder which was great . Very filling and with plenty of fish.

I had the ribeye. While the peppercorn sauce was tasty, and the onions and mushrooms were a nice accompaniment, the meat was of poor quality. I thought the root vegetable soup was good. It seems like a decent pub, but the restaurant was underwhelming on this visit.

The Spaniard is simply the best place you can go in Kinsale. Cosy, delicious and cheap. If you're planning to have a weekend or a journey in Kinsale you cannot miss the Spaniard. Food is delicious, service is outstanding and they have probably the best chowder in Kinsale. ( Source: me living in Kinsale and Cork for about 3 yrs).... More

Very disappointed with the whole experience we had here a few weeks ago. Ordered the special on the menu...Pork with stuffing and apple sauce. The pork came out without any apple sauce or stuffing. It was covered in gravy and not edible - extremely hard and dry. Sent it back and got Scampi instead which was nice. The staff were... More
