The casual but quiet atmosphere combined with some innovative small plates make this wine bar accessible to the casual drinker. The wine selection is fun to peruse and the staff are cool with that. Kind of fun. Probably great for a date night.

The Black Pig is a very trendy foody bar. The surprising thing is that the food is very very good! Tapas style little eats that you can share with the table. Of special note were the oysters with two different vinegars, so juicy and delicious....More

The concierge at my hotel recommended the Black Pig Winebar and I was so happy that she did! This is a rather small place so I sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the "action" of the chef/owner in the adjoining kitchen. Their wine list...More

The Black pig is pretty unique: a wine list that is one of the most carefully considered in Ireland, (but definitely hip; don't expect to see much here you've tasted before) along with tasting plates that are rustic, seasonal, and with a culinary skill that...More

My wife and I were in Kinsale for two nights and had excellent meals. Dinner at The Black Pig was absolutely sumptuous. We had a bottle of Italian wine from a small vineyard in Tuscany that was extremely reasonably priced and delicious. For dinner we...More

We booked in advance the first time, and got there at opening time the second trip. The second time, the place was booked solid (weekend, early May), but the seats at the bar are first-come-first-served.
