Streak sandwich and sirloin steak, among some of the most beautiful scenery, you pass this special restaurant and bar, if you sit outside the view is amazing, but the view is complimented by food just as amazing!
We visited about 6pm on a Tuesday night late July and we got a table outside straight away. The staff were attentive and helpful and the food came in good time. All six of us had a great meal in a lovely garden- burgers, fish...& chips, vegetarian - we had a range of dishes and the chocolate brownie dessert was delicious. We needed jumpers as the temperature cooled during the evening.More
Ordered the cajun chicken burger which was served with salad and rustic chips. The burger and chips were just ok,the salad leaves were are blackened and stuck together in a slimy wilted mess, covered with red onion slices.I asked for a fresh salad and a clean plate...to move my burger and chips onto .The salad was turning my stomach just looking at it The waitress brought out a replacement salad and this was also a congealed black gone off salad with the lovely addition of a dead insect🙈I showed this to the waitress and she apologised.Hardly her fault but whats going on in that kitchen? We ordered 2 coffees and my friend picked up the tab.I’m actually really annoyed that she paid 15 euro each for this service and for the coffees. No acknowledgment what so ever by management to address the issues.Very diss appointed, standards have definitely slipped here, will certainly be avoiding in the future.More
OK I've been here well over 50 times in my life and today was the worst to start with my steak was over cooked I ordered medium rear was almost well done sold as 12 oz it was more like a 8oz the salad as...bare and amateur very small chips cost 25 euro still hungry after eating this. kids dinners were fine the 2 stir-fry were absolutely disgusting it was like sweet chilli and ginger with some soy the veg did not compliment each other cucumber and cabbage 🤢🤮 chicken was hard and over cooked served with rice instead of noodles I complained to a member of staff that the stir-fry was awful and had the chef tasted it as it was so bad I doubt he would have sent it to which she replied I'll say it to the chef and that was it never gave me a reply or apology in all honesty 3 girls next to us ordered stir-frys 2 didn't eat much of theirs they didn't look happy and a guy behind me ordered one when it came I heard him say it was mank (terrible) I do like this place I just thought after a bill of 108 euro the food would have been better as they were not that busy I'll be very hesitant to returnMore
Absolutely spectacular view was ruined by the rudest staff we’ve ever encountered. People were waiting to be seating for up to 30 minutes with 10 empty, unreserved tables while staff ignored them. No one offered us menus, water, even took our orders. We had to...wait for 20 minutes at a time to be seen to for any request. When we got someone’s attention it was as if we were bothering them. Food was bland and badly presented for the price. Such a shame for a brilliant location.More
Every time myself and family eat or just visit speckled door it’s a magical and pleasurable experience,
Beautiful helpful staff and stunning scenery, beautiful food , get that sirloin steak! It really is a treasure to anyone stopping by after a beautiful day at Garrettstown.
We had evening meal twice during the summer and unfortunately it’s the same old storey, very poor menu choice, very small portions, chicken stir fry with absolutely no vegetables, Luke warm seafood chowder with no chunks of fish, the accompanying salad with main dishes is...a joke. The girls serving were very friendly and helpful , but this restaurant is getting worse, it’s a 2 star at best , it has so much potential but the owner needs to have a look at his competitors and up his game, just read the reviews and learn from the feed back , he should try to increase returning customers and not just depend on the one off people on the wild Atlantic trip. The toilets are from the dark ages with no hot water during the Covid . We won’t be recommending friends to visit and won’t be returning soon, what a pity .More
I had a lovely experience a few days ago when I stopped off here for a bite to eat. Our waitress Sinead provided us with outstanding service and made us feel very welcome. She was extremely accommodating and efficient and we will definitely be returning...again!More
