Went into Pat Shortt's twice during our stay. Good pints and conversation -- never did see Pat (unfortunately). It's best to park on the street because it's far easier to get to your car and be on your way when leaving. The food was well...More

I took my mum here for mothers day we had a nice lunch, and sat in a lovely spot cozy by the fire. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Nice pints and nice food. Informal pub atmosphere and good value. Beer garden beside river very nice especially if the sun is shining.

Not sure if the comedian still owns it but great little pub for a spot of proper pub grub. Whether it's a soup and a sandwich or something from the specials board it's a friendly little spot and the food is good quality.

Very nice pub in which to while away a few hours. Food is a bit hit and miss as some dishes were lovely but my burger for example was a bit dry. Orchard Thieves on tap was very good.

Visited in June 2016, 3pm still serving lunch, extremely friendly staff, accommodating to children and adults. The Chicken salad is tasty and has a good amount in it, comes with chips (Homemade with skins on), lovely bruschetta starter. Locals too in the bar overall a...More

Not the best selection of beers but a great atmosphere and lovely local pub with an outdoor area by the river. Worth a drop in for a pint if you're in the locality.

This place is another gemstone. On a warm day , sit out beside the stream, on a winter evening there's a roaring fire . The beer and service are excellent but the burger is to die for.

Inside The Hunted Hog as the open fire roars, locals and out of towners can be heard speaking of the boar. Over a smooth stout and plate of good food, you're invited to relax and soak up the mood. In days gone by, this pub was once owned by well-loved Irish comedian & actor, Pat Shortt.
