I visited here with my 84 year old Dad recently. It is situated inside Forest Garden Centre at Darnley Dale across from DFS. Nice cafe, plenty of tables and specials are on the board. We picked a table and a very pleasant lady came to collect our order, my Dad wanted Jacket potato with prawns, this wasn't on the menu... More

Visited for lunch but other than the formal and expensive specials there are no sandwiches, toasties etc. Other than the scones which are excellent cherry and almond, sultana, lemon and ginger and apple and sultana. The cheap plastic jam portions are somewhat out of place in what is quite an expensive establishment. There looked to be a good selection of cakes.... More

Set within a garden centre this is quite a pleasant place for a quick lunch. Choice small but well prepared and presented. Lovely scones

We enjoy our visits to the garden centre. Very tasteful gift shop. No tac like a lot of garden centres. The cafe is lovely for a cake and tea/coffee but it is so warm. Very uncomfortable. Wouldn't enjoy a meal. They need to invest in some fans. The lady owner and her staff are pleasant and efficient but lack friendly... More

Lovely garden centre which we visit often, thought we'd have a bit of a late lunch but at 2.15 on a Saturday they'd nothing to offer for a lunch! We've never visited a cafe before where, even if they've no lunch 'specials' left they couldnt offer a sandwich or a baguette at any time through the day??

I took my mum for lunch and we both chose a salad. I chose the salmon & prawn salad. My generous portion of salmon & prawns were served in a prawn cocktail sauce and accompanied by an equally generous portion of homemade coleslaw. Disappointingly the 'salad' was a small portion of fresh leaves. The 'salad' was served with a small... More

Spending a half hour at this excellent Garden Centre we decided to try the Tall Trees for a coffee and a scone. The restaurant/cafe overlooks the outdoor area and is light inside. The large home made scones are amazing and I've not come across such options before - Apple and marzipan, cherry and almond and ginger flavoured as well as... More

I took my daughter and her two year old for lunch and a little shopping last week. Although they managed a high chair (with no straps) there were no changing facilities at all. The toilets access directly from outdoors and have concrete floors. My daughter eventually changed the baby in the boot of the hatchback, very chilly as it is... More

We visited here for lunch. We had one wheelchair and one lactose intolerant diner both of which the charming staff coped with with no fuss at all. We had a lovely meal from the varied menu and will certainly visit again on our next trip to Derbyshire. The cafe is situated in a garden centre with a marvellous gift shop,... More

We have been going to Tall Trees for 4 years. They do the best roast beef sunday lunch with meat that simply melts in the mouth. The meals are very generous and come with an ample amount of really tasty gravy-something which is often in short supply at other eateries. Yorkshire puds are home made and delicious and there is...
