Coming from Australia we were uncertain whether we would experience good eating in the smaller country towns in the United Kingdom. We spent four nights in Bradford on Avon and ate well on each night. We went to the Fat Fowl on our last night...More

There were only 6 other people in the restaurant and we waited almost an hour for starters. The staff stood around and chatted despite being needed by customers. Overpriced and lacking in flavour, the food left much to be desired. i do not recommend this...More

Had lunch here with a toddler and grandparents. Excellent relaxed setting and lovely arrangements to entertain the little ones. Our toddler thoroughly enjoyed and we got a chance to relax too because he was happily playing. Food was great and reasonably priced. Limited menu but...More

Dinner tonight. Excellent menu choices, first rate cuisine and service standards to be admired. Will we go again? But of course.

Lovely building, open and airy a with conservatory feel. Staff helpful. Disappointed with dry bean burger. It could have done with a tasty sauce. Steak roll, lacked steak in a tough roll and wilted salad leaves. Macaroni cheese was very good. Chairs need a clean.

I was delighted that my choice of restaurant was the correct one. Scallops as starter were cooked beautifully, as was the pork fillet with black rice. All delicious. This place is quite tricky to find, but is obvious just to the right north of the...More

We visited this restaurant on a wet Wednesday night and what a surprise and delight. Although not a large menu, what was on offer was locally sourced and different to the normal offerings and a welcome change to the numerous Italian restaurants around the Bath...More

This was my first visit, but went with my aged parents who go a few times a year. Fabulous building, good ambiance, attentive owner. Menu is limited to offering good quality well presented real food as opposed to a huge menu of the usual Fayre....More

Based in the original site of Bradford on Avon’s post office, The Fat Fowl has got fine local dining sorted. Featuring rustic wooden tables and chairs, muted colours and an abundance of freshly cut flowers, the Fat Fowl is simple yet smart. The proprietors are passionate about provincial food, sourced locally where possible. Daily fresh fish from Brixham, local West Country cheese, homemade chutneys, freshly baked breads and home made desserts are just some of the wonderful things that keep a steady stream of regulars coming back. If that doesn’t convince you, their chef won Chef of the Year 2008 in Wiltshire Life Initiative. For quality in value in the area, the Fat Fowl delivers.
