We booked a table for four for my father's birthday - it was meant to be a memorable occasion. Sadly it was a memorable occasion for all the wrong reasons!! Notwithstanding the 200 mile journey from home, on arrival we were told that our booking was for the previous evening and that there were no tables available. Whilst we accept... More

Ahh, I remember this incident well and due to your rudeness, I was indeed frosty! When I took your call for a reservation, I firmly believed that you had booked the table for four people on the Friday evening, which resulted in you not turning up. We considered contacting you, but reservations are invariably made and from time to time... More

Staying for the weekend in the area booked a table for six of us and we had a lovely evening. Friendly staff and good food. A varied selection of beers and if you are in the area pop in for a pint and some lovely grub...

Lovely Sunday roast - beautifully cooked vegetables.Roast potatoes let it down slightly as you could taste that they had been cooked previously and then warmed up but they were still very edible. Lots of well cooked, slightly red beef and of course a Yorkshire pudding. We were too full to try the recommended sticky, toffee pudding and opted for lemon... More

We came here on a recommendation from a friend, I have to say that the staff (We think the owners) were very unwelcoming and miserable, there was no informal chat from them, and neither of them seemed to care whether we had enjoyed our experience there or not? hence this review! , I had to send a side order back... We were on our way to Longleat and thought it best to eat before we got there so we saw the signs to the Angel Inn and arrived just after 12 midday. They had just opened for meals so the restaurant was empty and we were shown straight to a table by a friendly member of staff. The inside I... More

I must say that the Sunday Roast I had was by far one of the best I've ever had! The service was superb and the Malbec red wine is delightful! Would highly recommend!

We called in on the off chance that we could be fitted in after reading good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were staying nearby at the Travelodge and were looking for somewhere nice to eat after a day out at Longleat. We were lucky that we could be fitted in despite the restaurant being fully booked and we were very pleased... More

I was invited to lunch by my good friend last week. Had been before and enjoyed the burger meal so decided to do again only this time I was disappointed with the overall experience. For one the starter was a let down as it said on your menu the prawns and chorizo were sautéed . When it arrived in a... More

Thank you for your review, I believe your friend left an almost identical one, for which this was my response: I am terribly sorry that you did not enjoy your dining experience, especially as the chilli prawns with chorizo is one of our best sellers, a dish which constantly receives rave reviews and we are always complemented on our triple... Description
The Angel Inn has been totally refurbished over the last 18 months, our bar is warm and inviting, soft bench seating, in wools and tartan create a cosy, informal area. The dining area is rustic, modern and intimate with atmospheric lighting adjusted to the mood, traditional wooden furniture with contemporary twists add to what we hope will be an enjoyable dining experience. Real ale, Doom Bar and Butcombe and local ciders are complemented by our excellent wine list, of which we serve a good variety by the glass. Our gin selection is growing, well appreciated with Fever Tree mixers and Fentimans is among our non alcoholic beverages on offer. We serve good pub classics, fish & chips, ham, egg & chips and a superb burger with home made chilli jam, our scotch eggs are a must! In addition we offer an a la carte menu and specials including fresh fish are advertised on our blackboards, ice creams and sorbets are homemade and our menu is gluten free wherever possible. Sundays we offer a set menu, which includes two roasts, one of which is beef. Our bedrooms are finished to a high standard with beautiful bathrooms fitted with walk in showers. We offer a guest suite which enables a family to stay in two adjoining rooms, with it's own private access for greater privacy and relaxation. Just a few minutes from Longleat Safari Park & House and easily accessible for Bath, Salisbury and Wells, the Angel Inn is well situated for easy access to many local attractions.
