Very friendly welcome, staff very attentive. Good varied menu, particularly liked the idea of smaller 'bites' Food and wine prices were reasonable and we enjoyed a good bottle of red wine from the 'bin end' list

Just had lunch with family at The Stag and the food was lovely. The staff could not be more helpful too. Will certainly go there again, a lovely setting too and great after the recent refurbishment.

Booked accommodation here and received a very warm welcome by the staff. The building dates way back with exposed beams everywhere including the bedrooms. Extension Bar & Restaurant area downstairs with outside areas for eating and drinking. Well kept lawned area on entering with beautiful approach and a delightful array of plants/flower beds. Free Parking. We had a superior double... More

Found this place by accident. It wasn't overly busy despite it being a Sunday lunchtime. Nice menu and the food was good too. Friendly service. I'd go back another time for sure.

Have eaten here a couple of times but nor since Wadworths took it over. Booked a dog friendly table for sunday lunch by phone very late on Saturday night but not a problem. Arrived and we were shown a very pleasant table overlooking the garden with plenty of room for our large Golden Retriever to lie down or move about.... More

Went here on Sunday evening, we both ordered Tandoori King Prawn & Cucumber Cocktail with a mint and Yoghurt dressing & grilled flatbread. Prawns were hot, small and rubbery, but had to ask for the mint Yoghurt dressing which eventually came out when we'd almost finished with natural yoghurt in a ramekin with two mint leaves, very poor and disappointing.... We tried the Stag for a lunch time snack. Both the service and food was average. Perhaps next time we should book ahead and explore the menu better.

Food was lovely and they offer a wide range of good food. Service was good and always with a smile.I loved the fact I could choose to order a small plate option. Loved the honeycomb ice-cream and would return again. Reasonably priced.
